Ban straddles (House Rule). Double the blinds for this given buy-in to be realistic (and more honest to newcomers).
You end up with a possibly smaller but clearly more enjoyable game among like-minded people. Solved.
While I wholeheartedly agree that a newbie needs extra warning before walking into this game, I don't think they should change a thing.

PZ's description is pretty damned good, and the game is not for everyone, but they love it and that's all that matters. For the record, I had a blast and will gladly play with them again if I ever get the chance.

I loved the original Truman’s, but these are fucking outstanding. I would sell my entire collection including my own customs for a set of these lol

IMO bergs totally nailed the spots, the colours and the inlays. This is the goat set for me now, amazing.

My only single gripe is that he didn’t make that $20 a 43mm chip.
Ditto

These Truman chips, and the Big Top chips are beautiful indeed! But I still love the boat chips moar, esp AS. Okay that Truman snapper is pretty bad ass.

The Truman snapper is 1 label away from being a mint ACF chip. Quite frankly, the snappers alone could be (unscrupulously) sold off for $20,000. How do you not love that!

$20 with a $5 bounty

tT25k starting stacks. 15 min blinds. Unlimited rebuys up to 3k 6k blinds

First home game tonight in a very, very long time, $0.25/0.50 NLHE with 6 players. Also the first actual game on the @T_Chan table since it arrived (have played some heads-up with my beginner wife, but that barely counts). I had forgotten how much fun it is to host a game, and apparently also forgot how to play poker. The first $100 bullet didn't last more than 2 hours, lots of mistakes and a few second best hands. Bought in for another $80 and started working my way back, making better plays and dragging some beautiful pots. Popped the cherry on the Empress Star cash set tonight, it was awesome getting those chips in play, along with the Star cards and button!

Sounds like this could become a more frequent game, the guys all said we should do it again. There's not a large player pool here, but there's enough to get a semi-regular game going. I really enjoyed playing tonight, more than I even thought I would. Here's a few pics from the evening:

Starting to work my way back out of the hole I dug

Little wall of $1's forming in front of me, felt good to finally have some of those chips in my stack

Only 3 finished the night with chips in front of them, the last hand of the night was me busting out a player to get back to around ~$150

Was into the game for $180, cashed out for $149.25. I'd rather be up than down, but the group was good and I'll get my money back the next time out. We had fun, and that's what matters the most anyway. And how awesome are those chips, man they look good!
