Official Home Game Pics Thread! (88 Viewers)

In for $100 out for about $212. Was playing the button jackpot game and had some left over, so we did a double board bomb pot to finish the night.
@detroitdad inspired me with his regular mixed games and such, so I convinced my players to try a few orbits of plo, which was my first plo experience. Luckily for me I hit quads, unfortunately I checked the river to induce a bet and it didn’t come.
The PCAs went down a treat with the players that are regular casino players, rather than my usual ungrateful regulars. The relabelled $1s work even better in play than I thought. No one had any idea they were an inlay replacement.

Yeah, you're probably right. If he got the dogs butt on the CPC chips, they might be in the HOF twice.
HoF dosen't mean jack-shit to me. The Truman set is the reason I quit the committee this year. The HoF, while full of great sets, has a smattering of simply "ok" sets, that were voted in largely on the merits of "I played with those". The Good-ole'boys club mentality totally soured my opinion of it. Touting it like it is some great accomplishment means nothing to me.

If you were on the committee and and your set didn’t get nominated for the HOF, how exactly is that a good ole boys network? It sounds like the opposite to me.

I was explicitly told (by a HoF committee member that was also part of the GoB network) that there is no way he would vote for a committee member's chips, no matter how nice they were. They failed to be nominated by a single vote.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's anything nefarious. I just think that all chips look 300% better in real life than they do in a photograph. That makes chips you've played with 300% better than any equivalent chip you haven't played on. Have a lot of voters on the forum that have used your chips, and your chance of getting into the HoF goes up dramatically. It's not automatic, but it certainly helps.

How does one get on the HOF committee? Is that an elected position or do you need to be nominated by people who know you?

That's not what I hear.
o_O

I think you just called me a liar.

I imagine that calling someone a liar for what they think is a pretty bold move. It would involve being able to read my mind. Despite your perceived ability to read my mind, I would enjoy meeting you at a poker table someday... because your presumptions are wholly inaccurate.

The whole HoF was started by Mr Tree, who recruited members that he knew had been around since the CT days. At the time I also had a comprehensive album saved on my Hard Drive of every new custom (and semi-custom) set, including manufacturer, chip counts, inspiration, and I think a few other details. That effort probably led to my consideration for the committee.

I no longer have that database. It was far too much work to maintain, and detracted from me simply loving the chips. When you get right down to it, there are a fantastic number of custom chips out there, and they pop up in many different threads.

Really happy for you that you kept these chips and got them in play.

It was awesome to play them, and the guys all appreciated the chips as well. Before the game started they were looking closely and asked a few questions. They've all played in casinos a few times, and I was a little surprised they immediately knew they were playing with quality.

I did ask them to be gentle, since it was the first time for the chips;)

I have always wanted a floor drain in my garage for the ice and snow that falls off the cars in the winter. Nice! Could also double as a urinal at the table! :ROFLMAO:

That would be disgusting lol! It is nice to drain snow and ice though:)

Getting ready for the winter casino night fundraiser. Somebody wanted pr0n of my CDI98 tourney set, so here's a small picture dump before all hell breaks loose.

So are the guns so you can also spread Russian roulette? I feel like the house might have a big edge with those.

Since @allforcharity lives in Canada I’m guessing those are props to go along with his Bond theme and not functioning firearms since they are pretty much illegal there.
