5s are the cheapest and easiest to come by PCA chips, should have more than 1 rack!
Our home game mostly played 6 handed so 1 rack is still enough, may scoop 1 more rack of $5 in future if I found them at reasonable price/condition in future.

By the way, what are the going market rate for $5 PCA primary nowadays

Well you won't find reasonable condition, they are all bike tires. I'd guess like 1.5-2 a chip.

Much more useful than a rack of $25s :D

It all depends on the players. My .50/1 game was 5 handed last night with $100 max buy in (or half big stack) and there was over 2 grand in the pot lol. Some folks just pump and dump. When that dude's not at the game the 25s don't enter play.

First game dipping the new regs' toes into No Limit. We also played Crazy Pineapple (No Limit) and Omaha (Limit).

Also, the debut of the nylon velvet Speer cloth topper with a separate layer of 1/4 inch foam under it. It was a pain to get aligned but worked well and no pilling!

Surprisingly the Limit games played bigger than No Limit. I think I'll bump the No Limit blinds to 10c/25c next time. I also explained open raising for 3-5 times the big blind, betting based on the amount in the pot, etc.. At first newbs were open raising $2 and always over betting small pots. I kept calling out the over bets and "how much is in the pot and how much are you raising, because if it's only 10c and you're putting in $2 you're not giving me a reason to play anything but AA." They kinda started to figure it out pre flop.

Nobody won/lost more than about $20 (as planned). I was in for $40 and out for $30 and change. AAA vs a turned flush was a rough one for me. Had to call the turn re raise all in as the players range was wide and I could have boated up. He was already stuck and opted to run it once.

When we switched to No Limit, the blinds changed to 5c/10c with a $10 max buy in, not including blind chips. Players would put their $10 in front of the red blind chips so we could better keep track of the amounts (see my pic below). It was fine for a friendly game, but I found myself unintentionally making bets incorrectly with the chips behind. Anyone else do something similar and have a better system?

Red is 10¢
Green is 25¢
Blue is 50¢
Black is $1
Pink is $2.50
Lt blue $5
Orange $10

20¢/40¢ most you could buy in for was $40.
I bought in for $40
Final stack was $121.35. Cashed out for $120.

Edit - Obviously I am not in charge of this game. I was invited day of. This game had a lot of the same people that were at the game with the "I thought you folded. A chip on the card means you fold and you want to keep your hand" folks. Thankfully no one did that.

In for $200, out for $482 last night. $1/$1 dealer’s choice, one orbit each called game, $5 double board bomb pot when button gets back to caller.

Had a little more when I took this pic. Games called included NLHE, PLO, 7-card Stud8, 7-card Stud (roll your own), Big O, Razz, I’m probably forgetting others.

OMG.. how does it end up being 20c/40c using those denoms
Way back when we used dice chips, we'd buy in for between $10 to $20, 0.10/0.20 blinds, white chips were 0.10, red 0.20, blue 0.40, and green $1. Got lots of chips on the table but it wasn't in the least efficient.

Different, but I played in a game with 5 colors and they were all $1. Quarters were coins. Ran out of chips mid game so then we had bills on the table too. Worst game ever. I made money and still never went back.

Super fun game tonight. 1 table, 6 players, Casino Royale tribute. Haven’t had this much fun losing in a long time. Plaques were a big hit. Vesper Martinis were tremendous. These heavy-ass chips were a big change of pace, but I have zero regrets. #makepokerfunagain.

And yes, I busted another player with quad Jacks vs Kings Full (in the 4th hand of the night) and he rebought to come back and bust my ass with AA to my TT 2 hours later. Some real 007 shit.
