Friendly game. In for $50.

Another pic from @Ethan 's game. Maniac in front of me raises blind preflop. I just call with my pocket 9s to not scare him off. I hit trips on the flop and again he bets blind ahead of me, so I just call. At the turn, I think he checked, I bet $15 and he looks at his cards and calls. River gives me the boat. I raise all in about $53. He calls, and shows that he sucked out with the top boat Qs over Ts beating my 9s over Qs. YES! He played this blind the first two streets!!!

GRRRRRRR... POKER!!!

@Ethan im coming to Houston to your game one day.

special night getting the Tigers in play for the first time. Super cool that fellow PCFer @w00zie was able to join, making the trip down from Germany!

Started well, but bled out slowly for most of the night after that. In for $100, out for $107 which felt like a loss somehow. Still, those Tigers…

There you go @OfficerLovejoy :) I visited a friend who lives in Zurich so we both joined @cpac54 game yesterday.
The Tigers are spectacular as expected.

I finished the night being up exactly 10 CHF which wasn't too bad considering the player to my left took all the money from the table with a series of pocket queens ;)

Thanks for inviting us, Conor. We'll gladly be back!

You guys are welcome back anytime!

I’m still processing all the QQ luck that guy got hit with last night - I hope he bought a lotto ticket today! :ROFLMAO:

Got invited back to @Trihonda ‘s home game. Last night he brought out his LCO’s and it made for a great night.

Had an up and down night, ended up down $14. Made a few mistakes looking back. One notable mistake was that I folded the largest pot of the night against an unknown player with a straight flush draw on the turn, due to a paired board and another player in the hand. I would have hit a straight on the river and won the hand outright.

You’re welcome for most of those comeback chips. I swear you only played when you had position on me.

Can’t complain. Broke even after 5 hours of ATC. Didn’t get lead poisoning that I know of. Maybe this is the chipdust @Josh Kifer is referencing. @Okku how did people 60 years ago put up with this color bleed? Did they all die of cancer?

To be honest, I have no idea. I didn't even know that chips did that until I really started working with them and looked at my hands 20 minutes in messing with red chips (don't remember if they were TRKs, Paulsons or what), but I started to think what the heck is this.... Turns out it was the chips and I actually cleaned a red TRK last night/night before that bled quite a bit although it was almost new. Not sure why red is the one that bleeds so much and I've never understood it. I don't remember ever having a problem or seeing bleeding from any other colors.

I'm sure a cleaning would help, but those Money Tree $5s look clean to me. Can't really tell from pics.

Also, thinking about it now, 60 years ago when the chips were brand new and fresh they probably didn't bleed as much as they do now. Of course that color being in the material for so long is probably starting to escape (possibly) which might explain the bleeding. Not really sure though.

Had a fun time last night at our February Heartbreaker league tournament. Broke our all-time record turnout by one with 15 in attendance!!! We attempted to extend our rebuys to 2 hours instead of 1 and it did add a lot to the prize pool. 9 rebuys total for this tournament which is also a record for our group. I did make the final table but I ended up with a 7th place finish. Congrats to @YeaIKno on making the final table and edging me out with a 6th place finish and to @TravNasty on his second place finish for the evening!!!!

So I haven't hosted in a while but I've brought chips out to other games quite a lot recently.

@Pippa had another game and let me bring some chips!

SDPM heads up.jpg

I don't usually like taking pictures of my stack but at this point we were heads-up and I'm pretty sure my opponent was taking pics too. Hadn't fared too well bringing my own chips out lately but this time was quite the opposite! Ran pretty great to win it.

These are definitely up there among my collection. Something about a proper NCV casino tourney set with great colors and inlay! Always been on my wish list. I had noticed them for sale years and years ago on Apache's website I believe before I joined PCF. Was a lot of money to spend and as I recall I blinked and they were gone.

The chips were a bit dirty so I scrambled in an attempt to clean the edges a bit by hand in about an hour or two tops right before the game  :ROFLMAO:. Figured if I was going to handle them for a while I'd prefer it if they were a bit cleaner. Not a terrible idea after all.

Anyways, thanks Paolo for another great night!

Two nights ago I hosted another James Bond-themed charity fundraiser.

finalblackjack.jpg

The lovely lady in the shawl is @Pippa 's better half Mara, who made it to the final blackjack table. Custom ceramics (OWPS) in play. To the far left is LPN Adam (who won the tournament at the last party), and to the far right is Darrell (husband of my RN friend Jane, who won the tournament two parties ago). Unfortunately, Mara didn't have as much luck at this table as when she hosts Tournament NLHE at home, and the eventual winner was RPN and dedicated Bond fan Chad (not pictured). Just over $2600 raised this evening, which is not bad for a night's work! Proceeds to go to local charity, decision to be made between community hospital foundation or women's crisis services.
