Shorthanded Cashgame NLH. 10ct/20ct. We had a crazy amount of strong hands and also some nice bluffs during the session. It was an amazing time at the table and a great and unexpected loooong 2 1/2 hour talk after the game has ended I guess we could have played some more poker also haha ... Thx to @Dingdingding and @Mr_Y3RAC for joining and for the very entertaining conversation!

The Poker gods have been on my side and I had a nice run....

Saturday night 1/2 and @deskjob101 decided we all needed to begin doing the horse race as well, so that was our first go at it, who came up with that degenerate game? Was fun.

Semi happy with the stack I was building from a $200 buy in... Spoiler alert, it didn't end as well (down only $46 on the night ain't bad though right? Right?!)

And somehow...somehow by the gods no one can build stacks like the wife... Look at the smug happiness lol

In $400 out $640. Very strange night, up and down, up and down. 3 hours into the game, the cable on my barrington snapped. Has this ever happened to anyone? Thankfully, we caught the table before all chips fell into the middle. Used an old deer stand ratchet strap for a temp fix. Might just keep it this way!

Having a tournament on Saturday, with a playing designated dealer at each of the four tables. I made a fill-in piece for the dealer chip tray in the main table, so the designated dealer will have an easier time looking at their hand. It doesn’t look great, but it will work.

Mockup the $1 label on Wed & send for printing, and meanwhile been hand cleaning the chip since Tues night

Nice debut for the chips, really card dead (no pairs above pocket 10) for the whole night but I got AK, a-lot of them got 7 or 8 in total for the whole session.

They are the best All in drawing hand, I keep 4b-ing with them and keep scooping up the pot. People keep thinking I got AA KK since I keep showing I got AK.

But I keep drawing blank on flushes and straight, keep bleeding from trying to hit the draws

0.5/1E tonight at the Athenian Owl Club. Two orbits of TX NLHE, one orbit of dealer's choice between PLO and NL Cuckoo Hold'em.
Toughest crew ever. 4 regulars including myself, plus 4 invitees, frequenters of underground games (friends of friends). Hell of nice guys, but very tough players.
In for 140E, out for 165E. I call this a success.

If I find you a young one out in the desert, maybe. They take an extraordinarily long time to grow to their "proper" sizes. The ones you see on TV and in the movies are quite large, being 5 meters or more tall. The old wives tale is they don't grow their first arm until they are 75 years old.

The bigger concern is they are very specific to the climate around here. I have a friend who grew up in Phoenix and managed to keep a saguaro from a little golf-ball sized sprout in a pot for nearly 20 years. It survived on a mountaintop in New Mexico as well as his apartment in Austin, TX when he was there for grad school. I think the final move back to Tucson finally did it in, however.

Customs is probably the least worry. I expect whatever agricultural inspection might happen along the way would get it flagged pretty quickly.


(There is actually a market around here for relocation of saguaros for landscaping purposes. It's quite a thing to see one of them on the back of a truck driving down the road on the way to get planted to decorate someone's front yard!)
