Late Knights Poker League - 21 seats, 25th in rank...squeaked in as an alternate after folks couldn't make the final...won the whole thing.
Hitmen Poker League - 18 seats, 9th place overall...chopped 1st and & 2nd with @Racer96 (who was 8th overall)

I was invited to a new game last night. Here are the chips that were in play. $0.25/$.50 NLH, $50 buy in.

See if you can guess the denominations.

When I asked about maybe using denominated chips or keeping it limited to three colors on the table at a time, I was greeted by blank stares.

White : Quarter

Red: 50 Cents

Blue: $1

Green: $2

Black: $5

Pink: $10

Overall, the game was very soft. Five way limped pots throughout the night, $2 river bets into pots that exceeded $30 and $10 bets into a pot of $2. I would say that at least 10 of the 16 players were very new to the game.

I ran the $50 buy in up to $120 early on, but had an unfortunate hand later on.

In the small blind with :kd::td:. 2 players in front of me limp, I complete and the big blind checks.

Flop comes: :kh::ks::4d:

I bet $4. Big blind calls and the button calls

Turn comes::jd:

I bet $12, big blind raises to $20 and the button folds. I re-raise and make it $40, big blind goes all in and has me covered. I snap call. In this particular game I don't think I would have played this any differently.

Big Blind turns over :kc::js: for a full house. :ROFLMAO:
I play in a neighborhood tournament game like this. It drive me crazy but I try to keep my mouth shut. Way too many denominations that never get colored out.

OKAY, poker is stupid. Lost on several rivers, gambling is immoral and wrong.

Beautiful! Brand new player, first time playing hits Quads over a full house.

When a few players left, the remaining 3 raised the stakes to a whopping 25/25c; still low, but 2.5x what we'd been playing. I quickly chipped up a few buyins before they realized the difference the increased stakes made lol.

Invited to a friendly game by my brother in law. $1/2$ Don't judge the homies setup. At least they pitched Copags. They will learn more when they come to my house for a tourney next month. My run good ran good. In for $60, out for $240.

Setting up for a Sunday afternoon/evening (very) deep stack tournament.

ZNUWcYf.png

Was originally set to be PLO but struggling to get the numbers so have switched to a mixed game format and now have 6 starters . Would be good to get 8, I've set up for that as I'm an optimist, but 6 is just enough if that's how it stays.

First mixed game option was HORSE - but that's got to much Stud in it for my liking so instead I'm going with orbits of:-

4 card Omaha
4 card Omaha Hi/Lo
5 card dbl-board Omaha
Razz (7 card Stud Lo no qualifier)

So a Hi, a Hi/Lo, a Lo and a dbl-board - with 2/4 being split pots games. It's got enough for circus players not to be bored while not having any games that are too complicated or are too slow.

Cards in the air at 4pm :p

Mixed games are gaining traction with most of my players! Last night comments from players first experiencing it were "hold'em is too easy" and "is it razz yet?"

I was expecting a loss giving my sun run last game with +40 big bets. My stack didn't move much...+3 big bets at the end of the night.

Was a good game. We're not sure Razz works that well but at least it's fairly quick.

Pretty sure this was the only hand I won all night

Eventual winner was a classic chip-and-a-chair story - down to a single chip (~2BBs at the time) and destined to go out in 5th it seemed but he hung on and ground his way back into it over the next few hours until he finally had all the chips.

Will certainly be doing mixed game tournies again.

What am I looking at here?! Five different 1’s. Three different molds. Chips without labels! Absolute madness!! :ROFLMAO:
Ben has a custom set in the works. He had previously bought a bunch of barrels of different $1s to see what he liked. The IG $1s had been murdered and will be getting Gear labels as quarters in the future. We started the night using green $25 chips as quarters, but decided we preferred the whites for more color contrast, so we switched out. It was poker and it was fun, and that's all the counts!

We held The Cornucopia Cup Tournament this past Saturday. 17 players were in attendance including @YeaIKno, @Bfow0804, and @TravNasty.

What software do you use for the tournament clock?

The room looks great. Do your players complain about the lighting and having a hard time seeing the cards?

This past Saturday was our final event, the Zombie Poker Classic! We ended up with 19 players after 2 cancels.

This was our 15th year and we maintain a tradition of prime rib main. This year, it was salted and put in the fridge for 2 days, then sous vide for 24 hours, and then followed with a 1-1/2 hour smoke. It was wonderful! Sides included: mac and cheese, baked potatoes (with all the fixings), spicy Brussel sprouts, corn pudding, corn bread, rice with broccoli, tamales, cheese/meat/crackers, chip and dip

Desserts included chocolate chip cookies, red velvet cake cookies, chocolate peanut butter cake cookies, brownies, and home-made Boston crème pie!

With 19, we started at 3 tables; as a freeze-out, we went down to 2 once we lost our first player.

Once there were 3 players out, the cash game ($0.25/$0.25) started. It built up over time to 2 tables and halted when we got to the final 3 players in the main event. Mostly NLHE was played in the cash game, but Omaha did make an appearance (and was new to several players). One weird NL hand had a couple people to the flop of 2K2, with betting down to 2 players. The turn was another K. The river was another 2. I wasn't in the hand, but expected either this to be Boat over Boat (with one having a K) or them to both have the K thinking the other does not. Instead, one player had the case 2!

As chemo is doing it's job and I'm low on hair, I dressed up as Kublai (our zombie) in "girl" mode with a wig! I didn't know when I ordered the wig it would match my Dammit Doll! LOL

Congratulations to Ben with his win and earning both the bracelet and Player of the Year... by ONE POINT!

Some of the pictures I took make it look a bit darker than it really is. I have multiple Kasa color changing lights on the ceiling and I keep the lighting above the tables on a warmer white to keep it easier to see the cards and from drowning out the room with the blues and reds from my other lighting. I have a pet peeve of making sure the tables aren't too dark to see the cards. I was looking at these photos and thinking the same thing. Some of them do look a lot darker than it is in person.
