Home game, or dinner plans? It was our last event of the year, so we did it up big.

10 lbs prime rib.

After a 22 hour cook, I had to sear it.

Well, I got it started - then I let it sear itself.

Not to worry, the meat below the fat-cap was perfectly safe...

There was also Mac and cheese, and corn pudding. Meat looks almost shredded because it was tender enough to cut with the back of a knife. Which is good, because I don't have 20 steak knives.
1731949315071.png

Baked potatoes, with all the fixings (well as many different topping as will fit into 4 suited bowls)
1731949420058.png

Multiple dips - crab, spinach, buffalo wing, and something... I want to say... hot and cheesey? Nacho cheese as well, which probably ended up on more potatoes than chips. Charcuterie board as well.
1731949891426.png

Tomato ensalada brocheta, and mashed potatoes. Hey, I like potatoes. You don't get that gut in the searing photo without carb-loading.
1731950121949.png

An then there were the desserts. Homemade fudge, Oreo cake, Pineapple cake, Oreo whip (I get the hint, players want the Oreo buttons in play again)
1731950457998.png

Chocolate covered Butterfinger balls (in adult and pre-pubescents sizes), pumpkin-spiced cookies, and an M&M white cake.
1731950654223.png

I cashed in 4th, and @tyrion1705 (shorter stack) took 2nd. @Jonesey07 (not pictured) finished in 12th, but that was plenty to secure the Player of the Year title.

The rare post where the chip pron takes a back seat.

That feast! :wow:

Some shots from Session 132. We had an audition, someone on the observation deck, and a pop in.

The Banker and second in charge taking the deal for a spell.

A peek into the cabinet. My @justincarothers Group Buy 43mm Binion’s Tribute on the Web mold, next to a picture my dad took of the Horseshoe in the 70’s, with an authentic Binion’s chip rounding out the ensemble.

So kind of an odd night with side games: not 1 player was able to collect with 7-2 and 2 boards were derailed THREE times during Derailment!! THANKS @sethwanab, @triton, @Dread_Pirate_Roberts & @Gavin for attending!

...probably our best match to date finished once again with the MIGHTY MOTHRA being triumphant and going 3-0 vs. Godzilla. THANKS Herman that was fun. Maybe 2.25 hours elapsed time?

That is an impressive come back for the heads up! Nice work!

You still owe me a double up...

I just played the jankiest poker tournament of my life. Had a lot of fun though, nice social get-together.

Apparently a friendly ten-handed $20 game of poker means chip for chip, no denominations, and blinds that go up every orbit.

The Copags I brought came in handy cause someone spilled beer all over the table in the first hand, but when I suggested using two decks they looked at me like I had 3 heads.

Nobody wanted to play on the pool table behind us, surely that's better than glass, no?

How many people had to pick something up off the floor during a hand?
