Appreciate the info @TKEUofM @WedgeRock (on mobile and too lazy to quote)

I’ve been thinking about starting to host some games with randoms/locals in my area since I don’t have a strong friend group to play with. 2 table max. Apprehensive about starting it up though.

So this is where all the FLVs are!

A tale of three home games this week:

Pic 1 - apologies for the double post, but I started the week on Monday with my Diamond Jacks chips and Statesman cards, at a friend’s house with a foldout topper on top of deck tables and an assortment of chairs.

Pic 2 - Triton table + chairs + cards, with Monte Carlo chips.

Pic 3 - family gathering with Bicycle paper cards and the only currency we had available - Monopoly money, in a hastily constructed tournament structure.

Ran the gamut this week of chips, cards and other equipment. But in all cases a good time was had with good people.

The monopoly money is strangely satisfying. I would run a STT with them for fun but not a cash game. :)

Hosted a game tonight (er last night) and it was a fun and crazy roller coaster. I ran my initial $60 buy in up to $550, then lost a huge hand to get back down to $300, then just ran like god and hit a few massive multi-way all ins to cash out over $1000. I guess my family is getting a few extra Christmas gifts this year.

It’s been a while since I posted but our fortnightly poker game has still been running as usual!

NLHE 50c/50c with bomb pots after every monotone flop. Full house of 18 players. Last chance for everybody to spin up some Christmas money so we had over $6k in play across both tables by the end of the night.

IN for $300
OUT for $330

Had a blast with the boys yesterday…
Annual Christmas game, first time with nice chips. Had some beginners, thus the little help sheets and friendly 5c/10c blinds

Story of the evening:
94855d1c-bb00-413c-818e-8b66e484524e.jpeg

1h into play, we have this board at showdown, one of the new players turned quads (why I took the pic, his first time playing poker)…
Spot the error.

Half an orbit later, I find myself with Ks8s, Flop comes 887 rainbow. Player to my right shoves for the rest of his stack, I call. He turns pocket 8s. Wait, what?

This brand new deck of cards, hat 5 8s in it, the 8s twice. Nobody realized it when the other guy turned quads, literally two 8s on the board. Pure luck we noticed when we had 5 on the board… never had this before, didn’t count the cards because I literally unsealed the deck right at the beginning of the game for everyone to see. Had to restart…

Later this guy shoved on me and I had to give in to the pressure…
