Official PCF Whisk(e)y Thread (74 Viewers)

I saw this one at my local, divey liquor store. thought they were asking 299, and left (am there all the time for wine, beer, regular staples). They typically don't have much if any high end whiskey displayed.

Came back a few days later, realized it was "only" 249, and couldn't resist. They threw in the Woodford sample for free.

Next up...Rare Breed Rye...112.2 proof. Did I mention that I'm not working next week?View attachment 1439961
Oofaah! Kinda hitting me hard...maybe I should go back to OGD 114. Only had a couple beers watching the Eagles trounce the Cowgirls and these two OFs are getting to me. Next one will be sub 100 proof.

left to right. Hard to find much for good bottles here in Oregon. But I've enjoyed these, especially the 4 roses. Cheers, and happy new year.

Here’s mine…

1. Redbreast 12yr Cask Strength Batch B1/22
2. Port Charlotte 10yr
3. Glendronach Cask Strength Batch 11
4. Barrell Bourbon Batch 35
5. Bardstown Discovery 11

One might say these are all fairly common…and they’d be 100% correct. 2024 was a strange year for me…I finally gave into the urge to give Irish and Scotch a try. The first 3 bottles are what really opened my eyes to what I was missing out on by just being a stubborn ass. Who would’ve thought that I would end the year preferring Islay over all of the other whiskies I typically drink. Crazy

I’m sure there’s some bangers that I’m forgetting but sadly, my memory isn’t quite as good now as it once was. Hopefully 2025 sees my taste for bourbon and rye return along with continuing improvement in a couple of minor deficiencies I’m currently experiencing. 2024 threw me a curveball but it’s nothing I can’t overcome!!

Happy New Year PCF!
