I have one of those, that I got today. I would take any of them, and any of the BTAC or Weller.

Last one. No clue what it is, but good drink.

Nose: caramel and brown sugar. Almost like a fresh baked cookie. Slight whiff of the proof at the end.

Taste: First taste is an immediate burst of flavor and heat right off the bat rather than in the finish. Caramel, brown sugar, and actually a fair amount of nuttiness for me.

Spice up front goes away for a sweeter finish.

Nose is herbal. I get some caramel apple. Brown sugar. But you can definitely smell high proof.

Spicy heat. Some cinnamon. Dried cherries. The finish is sweet and long, but not spicy. Maybe caramel finish.

All that heat in the middle, then it tails off. I do get some nuttiness in the second taste.

It’s warming, but not as hot as #5. Gives a nice, long Kentucky hug. It’s cozy.

Will you be ranking these as far as what you think is worst vs first?

My Christmas present to one of my buddies in town here: 4 vials of who knows what. Could be Jack Daniels, could be Eagle Rare 17 or even Pappy 15, or anything in between!! I will be buying MORE garbo to confuse him moving forward. We will be trading the vials back and forth, hopefully one box of 4 vials each per season. He is trying his winter box now with his wife. The vials are 60ml, so 4 is enough for 2 people (just under 8oz). My vials are labeled by letter (ABCD) to make it less confusing with what place it holds in the drinkers opinion. The fun really is when someone picks garbo over royalty. Here are the scoring papers I left them:

BLIND WHISKEY WARS!

You must taste all 4 bottles on the same night. I recommend going forward once, then back. Record your nose and palate then rate them worst to first place. Guessing the proof, distillery, or price is pretty gangster. However, if you are able to call what a bottle is; you are a fucking whiskey ninja. Please do not lose the vials or the lids as we will need them to trade so we can keep playing the game.

Let the games begin and ENJOY!!

HAHA I love this idea!

Is there a list of what these are? lol
Here they are, #1 through #6.

A200C725-0655-4840-B4D5-8D2E01D484BE.jpeg

#1 — Old Forester 1897 Bottled in Bond 100 proof. John guessed the proof correctly.

#2 — Rowan’s Creek 100.1 proof. John said “a smidge over 100 proof.” :ROFLMAO: They are really proud of that 0.1. Also, he guessed this one correctly!

#3 — My infinity bottle ? proof. I know what is in it, but there is no way to know how much of each. My guess is 105-110 proof.

#4 — Knob Creek Single Barrel 120 proof. John guessed correctly! This was both of our favorites from the six.

#5 — Bulleit Barrel Strength 125.4 proof. He guessed Booker’s.

#6 — Little Book Chapter 4 122.8 proof. He guessed Four Roses.

So...2 out of 6 is a .333 batting average. That’ll get you into the hall of fame.

Glad you had fun, @JeepologyOffroad. Sorry if we bored the rest of you. :ROFLMAO:

Thats incredible. I would probably go 0 for 6, and guess one of them was tequilla.

I'm a simple guy. With a limited budget. If it's "good" and under $100 when available, I want to try it.

Stagg Jr
Stagg
Noah's Mill
Weller (any of the sub $100 bottles)
Col EH Taylor (any, though I do possess an unopened Single Barrel)
Midwinter Night Dram
Blood Oath

(can get these literally any time, simply have not done so)
Rabbit Hole Dareringer
Bulleit Blender Select 001
Maker's Wood Finishing Store Pick
Angel's Envy Rye

Honestly most of what I want is duplicates. I was able to try so much high end bourbon this year that it helped me realize most of it isn't worth chasing.

My list of what I want that I don't have is pretty easy other than duplicates/new batches of the same annual releases.

Pappy 15
William Larue

There are other things I don't have that I would buy at the right price, but not necessarily actively hunting them. Pretty focused on scotch at the moment.
