So which ones are worth chasing?

I'd say anything is worth trying once if you can afford it/find it. I just know my flavor profile now and find the following worth it for me.

ECBP releases
Stagg Jr Releases
4roses barrel strength store picks
All the George T Stagg
Weller 107, full proof and WLW are the only Weller products I would chase to drink.
MGP over 5 years old and cask strength
Old Rip 10
Pappy 15
Old Fitz releases are very solid for the right price
Four Roses Limiteds are the top of the food chain in my opinion, they compete with BTAC for sure.
Surprises recently: Blantons straight from the barrel (10x better than regular blantons) and Parkers Heritage Heavy Char (super solid)

Once you find the flavor profile or profiles you like it makes it easier. For instance, EH taylor bp is great if you can get it around 150, but GTS is just way better, so given the choice I would trade the BP for a GTS all day since the secondary value of each are pretty close.

All of this assumes you are a drinker like me, this year I opened/tried everything I could, and now that I know what I like/want I can start getting back ups/chasing pretty verticals like a tater or investing/trading. I would love to have the weller lineup, but I wouldn't drink them, it would be more of a collection/investment thing, and I am not sure if I want to go that crazy down the rabbit hole.

Mail pr0n!

My wife got me 6 months at Flaviar for Christmas. You get a bottle and 3 samples every quarter, as well as other “deals.” I don’t know if I’ll renew after 6 months, but I will order a bunch of bottles and take advantage of the “free” shipping.

My first bottle and samples showed up today. There wasn’t much to choose from that I would want, or didn’t already have. So I went all Empire State.

Is it just my screen or is that the elusive Orange Label small batch?

I'm not sure...I had to look that up just now. I don't think it is, the signature on the tube looks more red to me, and the other text does not look as orange as the photos I saw of the "orange label".

Enjoying a wheater in Bernheim. Kinda feel like I'm cheating on Weller, but then realize that I shouldn't have because it totally wasn't worth it. shameful!

This is becoming my favorite thread on this forum.

I saw whiskey advocate had this at #12 this year. I never saw it on the shelves in md, but found it on a two night trip to the de beaches. I figured its $26, and I love rye whiskey, so it came home with me.

Brought some of the family out for a photo shoot... And also so when the store owner thinks I'm a flipper, I can prove otherwise.

Finally making my way through the open ones. Trying to figure out what gets opened this weekend.

Definitely gotta go hunting around by you .. i found a nearby shop that was stacked: Stagg jr, Mckenna 10yr, Pappy, all Wellers... but of course, ridiculous mark up

I refuse to pay secondary prices, especially NYC secondary. I hunt, I befriend, I enter raffles, I wait patiently ... Eventually I'm rewarded ;)

I had several infinity bottles bc I kept my peated scotch separate from the others. I found they overpowered the delicacies of the others
I read about that. I don’t like peaty malts so don’t have any so I’m likely ok. But I’m also going to stick to one type so this will be single malts only. I’ll do another for rum and another for bourbon.

A buddy brought this over to our last game, very tasty and highly recommend it. Bob Dylan’s collection “Heaven’s Door”
