Michters 20 is my second favorite bottle ever (I’ve had the 2014 & 2017). The 25yr is delicious, but I only had a single pour.

I had 6 bottles of Michters 10 from 2004, which is ~16-17yr Stitzel-Weller juice back before the Michters shakeup. It’s my numero uno of all time and I’m down to my last 12-14 oz. Completely unobtainable for me ever since, unfortunately.

Enjoy!

Modern releases?
  1. Willett C28A - Woodsman Tavern 19yr purple wax
  2. Michters 20 any year I can find!
  3. William Larue Weller 2016
I’d say I’m a bit of a WFE fanboy and this is by far the greatest bottle I’ve ever had. M20 and WLW 2016 are a rung below that, but round out top 3. If you include older stuff, the game changes.

Are you able to buy special Willett bottles directly from the willett bar?
Sometimes, but those days are unfortunately drying up (no different than many collectible markets as they mature *cough*) But bourbon has gone off the rails in the last 2-3 years.

I’ve been considering starting a forum similar to this one but could only imagine the drama associated so let it go.
Smart. The noise-to-signal ratio would bad. There are some decent facebook groups if you can find them. I'm in Indiana Bourbon Finders, and Indiana Bourbon Drinkers. Nice dudes and ladies, no sales/trades, which keeps drama way down. There is a mewe bourbon group that is pretty good too.

OK, I've had enough of not being able to spend money on new chips and, being a lover of this thread, I've decided to splurge on a couple of nice bottles instead.

This is where I need your relatively last-minute help, please, PCF.

I really want to see what all of the fuss about Weller is, but that's no mean feat here in the UK; it's rare, meaning the prices are absolutely ridiculous...

Having done a bit of digging, I have tracked down a shop that has a couple of bottles of Weller left out in the back of the store, although they told me to ring back tomorrow so they could confirm the one or two bottles they had left (they were just about to close for the day when we spoke).

With that in mind - and on the proviso that the prices aren't eye-watering like above - which one should I go for?

That is to say, do you rather the 12, Antique 107 or Special Reserve?

Thanks in advance!

That's better than what I had to pay for mine :(

Wow. The 107 secondaries here for 80-90.

That's for 2 bottles, so $150 ea. Supposedly I can pick them up somewhere around here for $100, but I didn't feel like driving around all over town trying to hunt them down.

Yeah that sounds exhausting, lol. Good call on passing.

Picked up that bottle 1792 BiB (thanks again for the tip @juankay20 ) so tonight I'm doing a little comparison of BiB vs Full Proof while playing some Mavens.

So has anyone itt tried the Weller single barrell? I loved Full proof, but can’t imagine single barrel or CYPB be worth the extra money?

Never tried it. But I'm about to pour this Weller 107 into my oak barrel for a few weeks to see how it turns out...

"Triple Barrel Poker Lounge" is the theme for my upcoming set of customs. Hence the name on the barrel.

Great Grand Dad BIB is my favorite whiskey to take to a party. Good enough to enjoy, fine enough to mix or do shots, cheap enough to leave the bottle when ya leave.
Thanks Josh.
I've recently picked up one of these.
I'm still deciding how much I like it. I've only gotten into it once. I want to give it another chance before passing judgement.

That's the smallest barrel I've ever seen!
I've got a Bowman's barrel in my garage.

Filled with beer though.

Thanks Josh.

It's nothing fancy, but I like it more then the comprable whiskeys, and less sweet than Jack.
