Darn you whisky advocate...there is a zero percent chance I can find one of these when it releases I imagine. If anybody here gets one, I'd love to trade some samples to you for a sip.

Thanks guys. So glad it’s done with. Really love the new place.
Shit, where are my manners? CONGRATS DUDE!! That's AWESOME!
True bourbon head lol thanks bud
btw, what happened to your knob creek cork?
Idk but I hate the cork on this bottle sooo much

I just want to say I've been riding the Struggle Bus all week. But people in the most random and unexpected places have done nice things for me, and that's helped.

At any rate, this blew up in my Indiana Bourbon Finder group this week:

It was a Meijer corporate wide mis-type. People scanned the price, asked if it was right, and were constantly told yes it's ok. Within two days, these had been removed from ALL the stores, even where there was no sale. What inventory was left anyway. Because whiskey drinkers on the internet are like Black Friday shoppers when there's a deal to be had. Sadly, I did not get any. I probably would have returned it if I had. Guilt would have got to me, and bad karma. I like deals, don't get me wrong, but this is clearly a $70 mistake.

What do you got on this?

It's been close to coming home with me before...
Overpriced at $50ish, but only barely. It is competing with Rare Breed there and loses. Still like it though. Looking forward to splurging on their Dareringer some day and trying that.

Try drinking higher proof first. It opens the palate more for drinking lower proofs. I would start with stagg jr and work my way down.

I do something similar with scotch. I drink heavy peat first. Islays to speysides to highlands

I'm the complete opposite. If I start with BP's or Islays I can't go back. It ruins anything that will immediately follow it.

Ok. Let’s talk whisk(e)y glasses. I have some very nice, heavy crystal rocks glasses for long, contemplative sessions and standard glencairns for tasting, but I’d like something in-between. Glencairns are pretty narrow and not as conducive to sitting and lounging. Nor can they accommodate ice. I’ve seen pics of wider glencairn-esque glasses that I think might fit the bill—anyone have something like that they recommend?

Custom!

I think it reduces burn and makes the more subtler notes shine. Like when you don’t rinse the glass and smell it in the morning.
