I'd pay that just for the fancy glass.$72 at Total Wine in Indy. They've only been open 3 or 4 months.
I’ll PM you when my first bottle is empty.I'd pay that just for the fancy glass.
I’m beginning to LOVE high proof ryes for an Old Fashioned, and high proof bourbons for an Amaretto Sour.
That take should save you some money.I’m ready for it! Call me crazy, but I think Buffalo trace is better than Blanton's.
I won't argue with you, but I guess it depends on the bottle. Blanton's are single barrel.I’m ready for it! Call me crazy, but I think Buffalo trace is better than Blanton's.
Eagle Rare is a 10yr. Great bottle at $30-$40. I can always find it, but I’m not willing to pay more than that. Though I am comfortably stockpiled at the moment.Speaking of Buffalo Trace, why is their Eagle Rare so rare yet inexpensive? Can't find it here (1 bottle in last 6 mos.).

Next time I'm down near Indy I might have to do some shopping. I hear the Avon Meijer is great on the right day.$72 at Total Wine in Indy. They've only been open 3 or 4 months.
The Peerless is fantastic.View attachment 668527
Today's haul.
Carmel Meijer is where I managed to grab an Eagle Rare bottle. There is a new Meijer opening soon in Westfield. Plan to be there opening day to see what I can get.Next time I'm down near Indy I might have to do some shopping. I hear the Avon Meijer is great on the right day.
Haha! If we are ever at a meetup together, I’ll be sure to have a bottle ready for this tradeHuh, I will trade ALL of my Buffalo Trace (including store pick single barrels) for all of your Blanton's.
Deal or NO deal?

How much was that cwc inlay??Snagged a lone MWND Act 7 gathering dust at a larger shop not too far away. A bit over retail, but not like I’m going to find many more. Another shop (that I've mentioned previously with their "below wine-searcher" price of $300 on ETL), had a Willett FE 6 year old rye for...$1K. Hard pass.

About $80 back in the day. It is Lagavulin, which is hard to find in independent bottlings. How much was that cwc inlay??

Of those which did you like best? I like the willet but I haven’t tried the peerless yetno photos, but I can assure you I'm in a good place this afternoon.
we've had a nice flight of Peerless Rye, Buffalo Trace, Crown Reserve, Belle Meade Reserve and now Willet 4yr.
cheers!
My ranking:
BT, just because... so good. $25/bottle is a steal... A STEAL
Willet
Belle Meade... first time trying it so will put it in the middle.
Crown... surprisingly good
Peerless... this is not worth $100/bottle in my opinion... not even close. This should be $40/max. Good heat, lack of flavors. Big disappointment, unimpressed. I wanted the wow factor, but nah.
Try a Willett Blanton's blend. 20 Willett 80 Blanton's...Great feedback. I really like the herbal grassy notes in the willet. I’m looking for more of that profile.

I’m sure someone on here can get you a blantonswheated and rye mix? I’ll try it. Although my Blantons only has one more pour left. Cant find another. Don’t want to line up for it either.
