I think the same every time I try Islay scotch. Love BBQ, but smoke is an ingredient like salt. A little bit enhances flavor. Too much and you can't eat it. Fuck peat!
One sip, threw it out. 20 minutes later, still taste it, have a bit of 1792 in a glass... took a few sips, waited. That shit taste keeps coming back!

One of the local cigar joints near me hosts a monthly whiskey/scotch & cigar tasting event that I occasionally attend. Anyone had any of these Redemption ryes? I've seen the Bib & Tucker but never tried it.
Anyone want to trade? These aren't super allocated bottles but still hard to get. I would like to try some other store single barrels of these or lmk if you have anything interesting.
I would really like to get some vintage whiskeys to break open and try. Something like Austin Nichols Wild Turkey or a Weller that won't break the bank. Cheers

I have a spare 2021, and have had at least one more opportunity to purchase it. I also saw a 2020 for $70 the other day and passed. So I can also get these too.
In other news, the Elijah Craig standard 94 proof rye on the rocks is pretty tasty. Definitely worth the $30.
