No favorites yet....working on it!
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this one once you open it. The bottle I bought last week is from batch 53(113.8p) and the neck pour on Monday night was very good!
I'll have to try mine again. It was a neck pour but all I got was the high proof. Almost no flavor at all.I’m below the label now and this bottle has really opened up. So much vanilla and burnt caramel. I’ve got another bottle, but I’ll save it. I want the shelf space to open something else.

Been looking for the EC toasted. Never find the good stuff down here.
I have competition in Elkhart County, no doubt, but it is not nearly as fierce as the swarm down in Indy.Been looking for the EC toasted. Never find the good stuff down here.
Here's my un-expert opinion:Ok, you scotch experts. Here is the drink list tonight at dinner. Which one(s) should I try. I’ve had Balvenie Caribbean cask and Aberlour 18 before and really liked both. Not a fan of peat.

I figured that, but it’s at an event I’m not paying for and probably won’t enjoy, so I may as well pick a drink I like lol. I may try the Aberlour … I’m generally ok with high ABV bourbon, but can’t say I’ve ever tried cask strength scotch.I hope you do t mind me saying that, David, but they are charging a LOT for the pours.
If it’s me, I’d be between two choices, both Cask Strength: Aberlour A’Bunadh or Glenlivet Nadurra 16. The Caveat again is, they are Cask Strength whiskies so you must be used to high ABV/Proof.

Thanks Paulo!LOL!!! Fair enough, man... It is just my instinct of looking at the mark-up of whiskies. Some, like the Oban 14 there, they are charging almost half the price of the bottle for a pour.
The Glenmorangie Signet is a fantastic whisky, very chocolate-y to me. I’d try that as well... didn’t want to recommend you a $50 pour. It’s about $200/bottle retail.
The A’Bunadh is ex-Sherry matured and the Nadurra 16 is ex-Bourbon matured, so very, very different whiskies for sure. I like them both a lot.
Oban 14 does have some peat in it.
Love me some Lagavulin 16, I always have a bottle at home. I've always been a fan of the Balvenies as well.Ok, you scotch experts. Here is the drink list tonight at dinner. Which one(s) should I try. I’ve had Balvenie Caribbean cask and Aberlour 18 before and really liked both. Not a fan of peat.

I’ve been told it’s pretty peaty though?Love me some Lagavulin 16, I always have a bottle at home. I've always been a fan of the Balvenies as well.
In my fixation on the drink menu, I totally missed your comment about not liking peaty whisky!I’ve been told it’s pretty peaty though?

I agree with both of these. Yes, Oban has some peat, but it is just one note in what I consider to be the best all-around, all-weather single malt available.LOL!!! Fair enough, man...
