Very tasty Eagle Rare single barrel. @juankay20 I'm digging this, it has a similar profile to their standard offering, but there's a very prominent dark fruit on the inital taste (black cherry maybe?) that's *really nice.
I’m hoping these start to pop up more often - i’ve seen buffalo trace picks but scarcely as well.
Witty’s just got a ER pick in - it’s $50 for theirs though

If you happen to drive into Jersey, you should be able to find some. I picked up 3 (er, 2 and a half now) ER 10Y in the last 4 weeks from 3 different locations in Bergen county. Paid between $44 and $49. Walked in and there sat a couple of bottles on the shelves! And received a text today from my local shop that they received limited quantities. Even Total Wine had ER store picks last week. Plenty of BT avail too

Well s#!t. I live in Central Indiana. This is the Bourbon waste land. I've seen 1 bottle of ER this year (the one I bought). I bought 2 bottles of Weller from Oregon for crying out loud.

I wouldn’t sweat it. As you prob know, there’s plenty of other fine bourbons to choose from. ER is good, but I’d rather have OF 1920 or Knob Creek 12yr anytime

Give me a shopping list, then pick me up in Elkhart some time on our way to @detroitdad 's where we can drink some of the bourbon, play some poker, and enjoy some good poker chips.

I just started making Old Fashions! What's the secret because mine tastes like crap lol

3 ounces of bourbon (I prefer 100 proof or higher)
almost a teaspoon of simple syrup (I make my own using unfiltered cane sugar (which is a must, and something that I picked up from @Hornet )
a few dashes of orange bitters
a few dashes of angostura bitters
twisted orange peel if I have an orange on hand
large, round ice cube
two luxardo cherries

more bourbon than you think
Less sugar than you think
Bigger ice than you think

I concur on all accounts! The biggest improvement that I learned from David was the quality of the sugar is really important when making the simple syrup. Less is more!

I've served them to a few different guests and they all love them! @Poker Zombie was over on Memorial Day. He brought his smoke gun. This improved the drinks even more!

Most bitters have cinnamon (I’m allergic :()
Does anyone have a bitters they like that’s cinnamon free?

I'll get some orange bitters and Luxardos and give it a shot. Been using cheap supermarket brand cherries Thanks!

Well, there is one way to check.... o_O
In a similar vein, if any of you need to "check" for tree mold or German cockroaches, I'm your guy. (Had a blood test once, those two came back as allergies)

I'm also happy to "check" if any of your bottles of Pappy, Van Winkle, Stagg, Weller, and the like are not poisoned. Can give you my address for "lab samples".
