I've never bought a bottle that I didn't intend to open almost immediately lol. I contemplated saving one of my AW 107's for trade. That lasted for about a month before opening it. I love drinking bourbon. There are so many different flavor profiles and I can't wait to experience them all!!! lol.

I treat bottles like chips. There’s bottles I want and open and drink like chips for sets I’m building and will play. But there’s also bottles I really want but can’t quite afford but make for great trade bait for other bottles. I buy some chips with the intention of trading for chips that I can’t just buy

I'm half way between you guys. It's the same approach I take with chips - I buy chips to play with them. With booze, sometimes I crack it open immediately, sometimes it takes a few months, but the outcome is always the same.....

If anyone can get more bottles of Midwinter Night’s Dram let me know... I would love another bottle.

I just started saving some bottles that I don’t care for but others do for trade purposes.
Blanton’s being one of them.

I’m getting deep into this second bottle already. So delicious.

I’d slow down, but I got a(nother) back up today.

Went out to do some Christmas shopping, ended up with these instead. Merry Christmas to me!  Anyone have this Grizzly yet? Complete impulse buy....

Couldn't wait to crack the ECBP....

Dark and aggressive and super oak charred. Long peppery finish. Very different from last year's C batch but excellent in its own way.

I’ve had one pour of the Grizzly Beast. It was fine. TBD if worth the $99 I paid.

Pipe dream and emerald giant are decent on their own, but blend them to make lost monarch and it’s pretty great.

I grabbed a Grizzly Beast and Rocket Top for the sole purpose of blending them.

I’m still looking for a Haystack Needle port

Makes sense. The Thomas S Moore are pretty much ranked Port>Cab Sauv>Chard

Personally I'm trying to do better with chips than I do with whiskey; my whiskey purchases outpace my consumption by a large margin. So many unopened bottles. More to share at the inevitable meetups, I suppose!

Merry Christmas to me! (Seriously, I buy my own presents.)

I love supporting startups that distill and age their own juice. Bonus points for growing your own grain. Anybody can buy MGP or Dickel juice and blend or repackage it.

These bottles are HEAVY. They might outweigh the Peerless bottles, and that’s saying something. Tasting on Dec 25th.

Whiskyadvocate is in the middle of revealing their Top 20 of 2021. Makers FAE-01 made it at #2, which makes me happy, because I love that stuff. JD 10yr made #4, which is just hogwash. Peerless makes a Double Oak, which I knew nothing about, but wouldn't mind buying and trying. It made #8 or 9. Number 1 has not been mentioned yet, and 11-20 have not been listed yet either.

Thanks. Just bought an FAE-02 today. I haven't had any FAE-01 since I opened it months ago. Maybe I should have a pour tonight.
Compare the two! I like both, but I think I prefer the 01. I estimate it will take at least five or six more comparison tasting sessions for me to reach a solid conclusion, however.

I have several Barrell Bourbon bottles I’m afraid to open. I first tried dovetail and hated it and said I wouldn’t buy any more Barrell Bourbon. My friend forced me to try seagrass and now it’s one of my favorites. I’m the biggest seagrass hype man on here.

But I have like 4 other barrell bourbons Im afraid that if I open I’ll hate like dovetail.

Let me know if you like this Binnys pick and I’ll open one of mine

Will do. It won’t be for a couple weeks because I’ll be traveling for work.

All good. I’ve been sitting on these bottles since summer

I’m really curious about this infinity barrel since I read that they bottle some then keep adding other stuff and so every few months they release new bottles and it’s completely different each time. Trying to read reviews and sometimes it’s great sometimes it sucks. Haha. I read one that said my august/2020 bottle was suppose to be a good bottling
