Very easy to drink. I believe it was made for the UK market. Fortunate that after a night of wine, buddy wanted to open a new bottle while we watched the warriors game.~30y? How was it?

Whiskyadvocate is in the middle of revealing their Top 20 of 2021. Makers FAE-01 made it at #2, which makes me happy, because I love that stuff. JD 10yr made #4, which is just hogwash. Peerless makes a Double Oak, which I knew nothing about, but wouldn't mind buying and trying. It made #8 or 9. Number 1 has not been mentioned yet, and 11-20 have not been listed yet either.
Wow. I guess I need to go pick one up at my local big box before they are impossible to find.#1 just announced (sounds delicious):

I grabbed one at costco a couple months ago. It's tasty, definitely get some of the roasty chocolate notes from the Guinness casks. Better than the first Offerman edition, but I still prefer the 16 I think.#1 just announced (sounds delicious):

Yeah I keep looking for a 12cs to try at retail, but they’ve been scarce. Haven’t tried the distillers edition either, which sounds tasty, just wish it were a higher abv.Yeah, it's a good Lagavulin imo. I like the first Offerman better myself but I understand someone having the opposite stance. The 46% helps those for sure and I wish the 16 was 46% as well. And I agree, I think I like the 16 better, even at 43%. I'm a fanboy of the distillery though, so definitely biased. The 12 Cask Strength is still the king to me although prices on the 12CS have been increasing crazily, almost to a point of just me giving up on new purchases.
Oh boy. I started my whisk(e)y journey in college with Scotch. Mostly the standards you'd find in any bar (Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Macallan). Then I discovered Islays and I was hooked. It wasn't until later (in my 30s) that I got into Bourbon and it took me a while to get comfortable with higher proofs. Now I'm a proof whore. But when I occasionally go back to peated Scotch, it's so comfortable. Like an old worn in pair of shoes. Now I want a pour. HahahahahahaPeated scotch, meh, still sounds like it will taste like cigarette ash, Guinness finish or not.
Just ship it to me! I would say $250 or more. It's got to be really hard to find. @Josh Kifer has an open bottle and it is delicious!Little Book Chapter 2 (2018). What’s a good price?

I wish, but all of us in my office are pretty big whiskey guys and they got handed out fast. There is a small market in a coastal town in my county where the guy who runs the liquor department basically sells this type of stuff at cost as long as he knows the people buying it aren't intending on flipping it.Holy heck! So I just got a call from a store I know. They have one bottle each of Old Carter Rye, batches, 7, 8 and 9, for a reasonable price, and are giving me first crack at all of them. I have a bottle of the batch 8 already.
I think the OC rye is a bit of a red-headed stepchild to the American Whiskey and the bourbon, since not everyone likes rye (I do).
What do I do?
Batch 9 is delicious in my opinion. BuySo I just got a call from a store I know. They have one bottle each of Old Carter Rye, batches, 7, 8 and 9, for a reasonable price, and are giving me first crack at all of them. I have a bottle of the batch 8 already.

Old Carter rye confirmed awesome. 115 proof and no heat whatsoever. Just smooth rye goodness.
Couldn’t wait for Fryeday. I’m ok with that.

A little over a year ago my store had cases of their SB EHT on delivery day, each bottle $75 out the door. I bought my one. I was hoping they would do it again this year, but so far, nothing. Since I haven't even opened my one yet, if I see them, I'll grab what I can and hook the forum up.Finding 5 is like winning the sweepstakes in your area apparently. Finding ONE in my area is like capturing Pegasus and flying his horsey ass around town while chugging Pappy Van Winkle dressed like Zeus macking on Playboy centerfolds.
