Oh man!!! You really found one of those in the wild still? I think it is a 2016 release of something. The first of 6 releases on the series. All 6 non age statements and with a certain "theme".

The N1 had a MSRP of $99 and the other saw a slight increase on the MSRP, the N6 was $140 I think.

I bought a bottle of each of the series at release, including the N1. Now, it goes for $2K on the secondary, LOL!! The only reason I don't sell it is I don't like selling whisky, never did. I might sell this one though. There is no way it is worth that much purely from the liquid. It is a collectors item, thus the price.

I could rant all day about how Macallan left the whisky industry and because just a luxury/status symbol, but I won't, LOL! Not a bad whisky btw, just not great. Many, many similar profile distilleries that are much better and much cheaper.
 
I'm using my ONE TIME here since I haven't found very much this year. Lottery fingers crossed

Thanks. I went to the store and they had it… but it’s on the “owner’s shelf in the back” with all of the BTAC and other rare stuff. I don’t know what it means that it’s on the “owner’s shelf” but I assume he is going to flip them.

Oh well. I named dropped the distributor sales rep that I know, and got Stagg Jr and EHT Rye for basically retail. And they’ve got a lot of other great bottles for next time.

Yeah, I think you're right, that shelf might be for bottles the store will ask as much as they can for them.

In my opinion, and that is just my opinion, that Macallan Ed No1 is worth around $100 for the whisky itself, not more than that. Maybe a little more if one wants to try a slightly different young Macallan. Certainly NOT 20 or 30 or 40x that!!!

Much better deal to get the Jr and Taylor Rye at retail, LOL! Unless you were planning on flipping the Macallan for 20, 30, or 40x retail ;-)

I learned tonight that the 12 Days of Christmas begins on Christmas. I probably knew that in Sunday school but adult me forgot.
 
Lol. First sniff off the bottle is pure new toy. Like when I was 8 and bought a new Transformer. Hahahaha!!!
