Kings family distillery- 14 year old Light whiskey! I tried it, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever had. 143 proof!
they didn’t have that answer for me. I was curious tooMGP sourced or own distillate?
YesAnyone need Remus Repeal reserve V?
This was entirely predictable. So I just got a call from a store I know. They have one bottle each of Old Carter Rye, batches, 7, 8 and 9, for a reasonable price, and are giving me first crack at all of them. I have a bottle of the batch 8 already.
I think the OC rye is a bit of a red-headed stepchild to the American Whiskey and the bourbon, since not everyone likes rye (I do).
What do I do?
I agree with this. I got all mine at the $55 retail. They are that much better and more interesting than the standard Makers offerings and worth the small extra expense. But they're not $75+ bottles.I find all the MM wood finishes to be very fun/interesting but kind of over the $70/ price tags.
Unfortunately $70 is retail in NYS plus 8%. Part of that is probably NYS regulations that all labels have to be approved so if you make a small change it means a new filing. Not sure if that applies to proof statements but sure having different wood combinations means a new label.yes, $60 plus minimal tax is a fine price
Over-regulation yuck. Indiana has one of the highest sales taxes in the nation (7%) but there are zero additional liquor taxes or local taxes ever. The alcohol market seems pretty free here as well, but I'm not familiar with all the details.Unfortunately $70 is retail in NYS plus 8%. For 12 years I drank johhny walker almost exclusively. I literally wallpapered a basement bathroom in the labels I steamed off of bottles and deco paged them to the wall. To this day I really enjoy that whiskey and find black label to be a very easy drinker. Green label is now my favorite but I still buy handles of red label for when I need a refreshing drink on ice after a run or long day.On the first day of Scotchmas, Johnnie Walker gave to me: Black Label.

I (re)learned this week that the 12 Days of Christmas is supposed to begin on Christmas. January will be a dry month for me, so I’m going to end my 12 Days of Scotchmas on Christmas.
I imagine that one is better, but this one is VERY good.
I had a brand new old pepper but I unfortunately stored it on its side….
