I agree with adhd guy only about half the time. He didn’t like my A119 ECBP is a contest once, and I think it’s pretty great. And when he talks about peaty smokiness in whiskey, I automatically disagree.

John Emerald John’s Alabama Peach Wood Smoked

Daily drinker, I always grab a 4R Single barrel from the 5th or 6th level under $40.

Excited to see if this Little Book lives up to its reputation this year, haven’t had one since batch…3? 2?

I've had westland, it's good.

Anyone else spend a non trivial amount of their time hunting for spirit retailers that will ship to them?

Seelbachs is a general go to, but I just found a place that would ship me Aberlour A'Bunadh, so that's my win for the month.
 
Had a Weller 107 after work to unwind, always so damn good. Then ate dinner, the wife's chili I posted in the dinner thread, also so damn good. I think I ate too much though.....and this Bookers 2020-02 is WAY hotter than I remember lol. I might be going to sleep early....

Do you ever shop at Connecticut Ave. Wine & Liquor, near Dupont Circle? (dupontwine.com) They're my go-to whisky store on trips to DC.

I don't know what you might be looking for right now, but they carry the A'Bunadh, and they ship all over the country, including to me in FL.

Maybe I'll enjoy a pour of my AW 107. I'm down to about a third of the bottle I believe :( My ECBP is even lower.

I can drive over and pick up from them, but they won't ship to me. Most retailers won't ship to VA due to VA ABC laws.

Looks like a good shop and one I haven't looked at yet. I've been mostly hounding VA shops and then looking around shops in MD as they have really wonky laws. There is one retailer I've browsed in DC but their prices were insane. These look much more reasonable for the bottles I use as a benchmark.
