Happy St. Paddy’s, boys! The dry spell is over. But just one pour for me tonight.

This is my first IB. I was afraid of the door I’d be opening if I bought one. That being said the word on caol ila is the best way to experience them is through the IBs. Makes sense in a way. They make much more juice than anyone else on Islay but JW doesn’t want the best stuff, they want consistency. Then their own bottling, same story, but all those barrels and IBs coming in and taking those outliers, I can see the story here.

I might do a flight of green spot, The regular and the two finished. Then, if I’m still vertical, move into yellow, red and blue.

For another $20-$25 the 14 yr is so much better IMHO...
I really like the La Santa, I think thats the 12. Sherry vs Port cask.
I assume that this is the correct order for this flight. I’m going with it either way.

I’m just not a scotch fan, especially the heavily peated stuff. I can tolerate most highlands. Give me a nice bourbon or rye and I’m happy! Only reason I opened the Glenmorangie was that I thought I wanted a break from my usual pour…I was wrong lol

Does anyone else get a LOT of Apple notes on the green dot? It’s almost like a cultured take on the crown apple. Except with real apples instead of green jolly ranchers.

And Yellow Spot was at my Total Wine. Not sure if you have them in MD.
