Part 2 of a 3 part flight. Maybe the best nose of any whiskey I’ve ever had. So sweet and floral. Hard to pick out any specific notes. A lot of fruit.

Palate is sweet fruits and almond with spice from start to finish. A long, spicy finish. But not overwhelming heat. It’s fantastic.

It’s a VERY good pour, but maybe not worth 3x the regular Seagrass. I don’t know. I will need to do more research. :)

Part 3 of a 3 part flight. Very much like the 14yr Cat’s Eye Obtainium Canadian Rye that I have. I’ll need to compare the two side by side.

It’s a lot of heat. A lot. But yet, tasty.

thanks for the tasting notes. I was curious about this one.

Ok, I’ve never bought ECBP, and I admit that the reason is totally superficial: I hate the look of the bottle. (I know…I know…) But, my best friend said the A122 is amazeballs, so I’m giving it a whirl.

And I picked up the High West High Country single malt, mostly because I LOVE HW ryes and also because it says “Limited Supply,” so it must be good. Anyone tried it?

I enjoy the A122. I haven't had a pour since I bought it.

If you still just can’t get past that hideous looking bottle, I’ll gladly take one for the team and take it off your hands:cool:ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

That High West is real good too!

If Freddy Noe picked that Knob, you are in for a treat. Such great value in those. Stellum Rye is good. Weller SR is Weller SR. Hoping you didn’t overpay.
The Knob Creek is a Total Wine Louisville store pick. I'm just reading up on Freddy Noe now. Would he have picked that one for TW?

I did pay a bit of a premium for the Weller, but totally worth it. it's the only way I was going to get a bottle. It's easily my favorite less expensive bourbon for a daily sipper. I'm set for Weller till 2023. :D

Looks like he’s already enjoyed that Noe quite a bit lol
It's not as empty as it looks; just under the top of the label. I had a generous pour on my first night in Charleston, then shared a pour with my brother when we visited him in Aiken, SC. It is terrific.

He does a lot of the Knob picks, and it’s got his name on it. I’d have to assume it was a pick of his. I assume that you read about Booker’s and Little Book as well. They are usually excellent, but have become quite pricey. Knob Creek select is a much better value, I think.

I don't read about bourbon, other than the occasional review. Do I look like a nerd or something?

I just noticed Fred Noe's signature on the label.

You must have better restraint than I do…KC SiB Selects, once opened, don’t last long at my house. They’re easily some of my favorite bottles!

Neither bottle is actually Pappy, but if you have a VA driver's license and residence, it's worth a shot:

"Virginia’s annual bourbon lottery returns Wednesday with two types of Pappy Van Winkle, reports Karri Peifer of Axios Richmond.

Why it matters: Kentucky’s celebrated Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery releases its stock only once a year, and there isn't much to go around. So bourbon drinkers across the country snap up the bottles, often to resell at a huge markup.

Since Virginia’s booze sales are regulated by the state, it sells Pappy for the manufacturer’s sales price — often hundreds or thousands dollars less on the open market. This year’s selections:
How it works: Anyone 21 and over with a Virginia driver’s license can enter the lottery this Wednesday through Sunday.

Last year had the largest number of entries since the lottery began in 2016 ... 302,884."

Had the wife set these up blind for me.

The nose on A is very floral. Most similar to Four Roses maybe. Some citrus and baking spice.

The Nose on B is more traditional. Vanilla. Brown sugar. Maybe some orange peel.

A edges out B on the nose just because of its uniqueness. Both are fantastic.

The palate on A is a quick, sweet cherry note, then warm heat with spice, raisins, and oak that lingers. A long finish that slowly fades out. It’s very good.

The palate on B is vanilla, then a punch of oak, spice, and barrel char. The finish fades quicker than A.

A wins on the palate too. While B is very good, A is excellent bourbon.

Result: I like A better.

A is Calumet 15
B is Sam Houston 15
