Yes you should
Cheers! ECBP is back, baby! C921 was good. This one is excellent. Thanks, Bill!

That should be an interesting one....
A — The nose is quite complex. Fresh bread, root beer, and baking spices. Each time I nose it, one of the notes comes through and the others are background.

The palate is subtle. It’s brown sugar and strawberry shortcake. The finish is spice and oak. But short and dry.

B — Nose is a vanilla bomb with honey, graham and rye spice. So delicious.

Palate is tons of vanilla and caramel. Charred oak and rye spice. It’s got to be the OG single barrel, Blanton’s. The finish is longer and sweeter than A. More spice, but still dry.

Nose and finish go to B, but the palate on A is so good that it wins tonight.

A is Elmer T Lee.
B is Blanton’s.

This was a fun one. I highly recommend both, but don’t pay much more than retail. Four Roses 100 proof single barrels are $50 bucks and just as good.

I still haven't been able to find a bottle of the toasted oak
This is my first time getting one of those. I wasn’t specifically hunting anything other than something that’s a little lower on the proof and price (compared to what I typically sip on) for tonight’s cash game. When the store manager saw me come in, he immediately went into the back office and brought out those 2 bottles…said he knew I would want these! As I’m checking out, he then mentions that he has two A122’s coming for himself but I can have them both if I want! Told him I’d only take one and he can make someone else happy as well.

This is the way.

Wow just had my first taste of the pikesville. Really good, smooth on the front and middle with a nice spice on the end.
It's the rye that I compare everything else to. It's barely a rye, but such a good value. I use it often in an Old Fashioned.

Has anyone else tried some of these Japanese whiskeys aged in Cedar or Pine barrels? I wasn't sure I'd like them, but I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised. You can definitely taste the cedar or pine on the finish. It's a nice twist on classic whiskey.

The store that I got the Ezra Cask from also got a companion barrel pick of Rebel Cask at the same time. I STRONGLY encourage purchasing one of those as well if you happen to run across one. This one won’t see tomorrow, but I also have a backup of it lolView attachment 884507

sigh.....

Went looking for an ECBP A122 and came home with these instead :) I don't think I've ever seen an ECBP private barrel around here, I may have to tap into that one tonight.
