MGP juice?
Being a novice in the whiskey game, I had to look this up. I believe you are correct and MGP is the producer. The first store pick that I enjoyed was a Penelope barrel strength toasted series and looks like that was also a MGP product. I started a little light reading on some of the other stuff that originates from them. Any experience with NULU? Looks like this may also originate with MGP. One of the local stores has been pushing this but I have not tried yet.

My wife mentioned this today and my response was "who in the hell would drink crab flavored whiskey?". Figured this would be some good old boys down on the shore messing around. Looks like a product of New England area. Them folks is all sorts of backwards;)

NULU does some interesting finishes. I have a toasted rye that's wonderful.

an old coworker had whiskey with a snake floating in it for years from I think thailand.... no one ever was willing to crack it
I have a small bottle of habushu, which is an Okinawan rice liquor to which they add a snake and then age it until it dissolves.

Sometimes habushu is sold with an intact snake still in the bottle. Mine is a small bottle that does not have a snake; it was a gift from a friend who went to Okinawa a few years ago.

Onkly NULU I have had was the sample @Klobberer sent me.

However Old Pepper single barrel rye is one of my favorite rye's and their current stock is from MPG until their own stuff ages enough.

D — It has a great nose. Super sweet. Standard vanilla and caramel. Fruit that I can’t quite place. Maybe fresh raspberry.

Palate starts sweet but doesn’t really go anywhere. Some young oak. The finish is ok. But that young oak hangs on.

I’ll guess around 100 proof, and pretty young.
