All this Russells talk got me craving a Turkey product. Since my only Russell’s Private barrel is getting dangerously low, I went for the next best thing!

I tried Peerless Rye a few months ago and I loved it, so when I saw the bourbon…snap buy. I’ll report once I crack it. It’ll be my first taste of their bourbon. Either offering is not that common around here.
Haven't had the Rye yet. It is $102 + tax here so it would have to be as good as Seagrass to me ($90). Let me know. Although Total Wine is opening a store near me this month. That might improve things, IDK.

I didn’t like Seagrass…I know, blasphemy lol…I thought the Peerless Rye was way better!

The Rye is only $80+ tax here and the Bourbon is $70+tax…problem is you don’t find them that often.

A friend went to Memphis and brought this back for me. It’s pretty good. Anyone ever hear of this,

looks like a craft distillery (old Dominick) based off of an old brand like many of the current new crafts. I have never had this one but am an advocate of craft distilleries (new riff, second sight, holt spirit and watershed are recommended) I would try it if I was in the area

I’ve tried balcones several times. Can’t stand it. Bunch of batches and finishes, always makes me have a really negative reaction.

Glad you like it, they seem to be doing some really cool stuff and putting out interesting products.
Their "base" I really like. Several of the alternative approaches and finishes are just not good. I'm always giving away drinks out of my "True Blue" bottle at home to try to get rid of it.

This is the only Balcones that I’ve tried…it was disgusting. It was so bad that I dumped the rest of the bottle down the drain. No way I would even give that to a guest at my house lol

Nothing like sampling bourbon at 9:30AM.

I also was tested and sampled their Woodinville pick choices again. Picked the same one again blind. It’s also the favorite of the two store owners and all other customers who tried them. It’s going to be REALLY good.

The 4R was really good, so I bought it. :cool
