I've really been liking most anything from Bacones lately. Favorite of theirs is Brimstone. Here is the collection as of today.

I recall seeing something about this on YouTube, they play Metallica in the Rick house where the barrels are aging.
I’ve tried balcones several times. Can’t stand it. Bunch of batches and finishes, always makes me have a really negative reaction.

Glad you like it, they seem to be doing some really cool stuff and putting out interesting products.

If anyone's around Tampa in November, Bern's restaurant offers their annual four day WTF:

I thought, prices seem like a lot, but say 400 to take the wife out to a really nice meal and have a tasting has to appeal to someone.... a person... WTF.
Sure, if they're both bourbon lovers.

But I for that kind of money, I can take my wife there, dine indoors on some of the best beef in the country, and order wines that we love from *THE* best wine list in the world. And then go upstairs to one of the private dessert rooms and choose from their full dessert menu, to boot.

The last time I took ten people to Bern's for my wife's birthday, it cost me $3K -- but that was less per head than these events. The place is stupendous, once you get past the decor. :cool

Ooooh nice. I need this batch - lemme know your tasting notes
Initial nose is very ethanol forward but it does fade and I get a nice dark brown sugar, oak and plums. There’s plenty of heat on the palate but it’s not obnoxious. I taste dark brown sugar and a slight hint of oak and toasted nuts. The finish is very long and the oak is more noticeable along with brown sugar and maple syrup. The dark fruit on the nose is not there on the palate or finish.

This reminds me of a breakfast crepe that my mother in law makes with brown butter, dark brown sugar, Nutella and maple syrup! I love this pour!

Damn, that sounds incredible

Has anyone tried either offering from Hardin's Creek? I have one of each available to me.

Didn't know Whistle Pig was doing Bourbon now, but stopped by BevMo yesterday and there it was on a display. Part of $0.05 sale too, at $65 the price was $15 more than Total Wine, but with the Templeton 6yr for another $0.05 seemed to get the price about right. :)

It’s not RR13, but I was happy to find this in a store that I “just happened” to run by during lunch
Peerless is one of those bourbons I tried very early on in my journey and wasn't a huge fan of, so I never circled back. But I do see it on lots and lots of lists about bourbons that I need to try. So after you open that one, let me know if I should go out and find it!

Also, I knew you would like the RR13 post! Anyone who could find an RR in the back of a photo based solely on the shape of the bottle is A-OK in my book  :ROFLMAO:

I tried Peerless Rye a few months ago and I loved it, so when I saw the bourbon…snap buy. I’ll report once I crack it. It’ll be my first taste of their bourbon. Either offering is not that common around here.
