Small Batch Select is good.
Interesting. Thankshttps://www.facebook.com/4817223052...mtEYdbfmB4KNvrJ54u3hhJAJWsTPtGdMoBl/?sfnsn=mo
This popped on Facebook. I found it really interesting. The houses of bourbon. Largest bourbon companies and their brands. Hope the link works.
That looks tasty!OOOOPS Wrong thread!
There is nothing wrong with any of those bottles. I think there are much better bottles for the price of Blade & Bow.
To drink them all and enjoy/learn the different taste profiles. Some will be sipped neat, some will be sipped over ice, some will be mixed in old fashions. There is nothing wrong with any of those bottles. I think there are much better bottles for the price of Blade & Bow.
My question is: What is your goal? And I don't see any ryes.
That's some good stuff right there!

Then you are off to a good start with your selections. Don't write off any bottle until you have tried it three times. Some take a couple months of being open for the whiskey to "open up." I have found that especially with toasted or double oaked offerings. To drink them all and enjoy/learn the different taste profiles. Ryes are generally a bit more spicy and full of flavor? I think I'm still working my way there along the path to some barrel proof bottles as well.
We learned that Cognac, which was a staple for us several years ago, is much more difficult to enjoy now. We drank some 1738 Remy Martin Cognac and even had a glass of Louis XIII but didn't really enjoy it.

Yup, lots of Weller Special reserve. I have a knob creek 9 year as well. Then you are off to a good start with your selections. Don't write off any bottle until you have tried it three times. If you haven't already purchased, I would put back the Blade & Bow and look for something else. Rare Breed for example. Knob Creek. One of the non-standard Maker's Mark offerings. Four Roses single barrel at 100 proof.
I've heard that Texas is full of Weller, but maybe only Special Reserve. But you should be hunting for Weller Antique 107.
Cheers! I'm looking forward to your opinions of each of the bottles you chose.
Done and I very much appreciate the feedback. We're making it a routine that someone brings a new bottle of bourbon to poker nights. Updated cart below.I'd save your money on 1792 (small batch), larceny (small batch) and probably blade and bow.
Would highly rec four roses small batch and wild turkey 101 over what you have in cart.
Good to see you have a knob creek 9 and weller SR.
Both are fantastic. I think that I prefer Small Batch Select right now. But you can't go wrong with either.Actually for the Four Roses @Saoliver suggested something around 100 proof. Which would you pick?

I've seen the Russell's Reserve 10 year suggested a lot so getting that to try it out. Noted on the other suggestions though for next order. One more, you can ditch the Russell's 10 (wt 101 is better), and get a jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof.
Or go with another crowd favorite... Alberta premium rye.
More $$$, but well worth your time in initiation

I could have told you that. And I haven't even tried it yet. Nor will I ever, unless someone gives me one for nothing.By the way, Troy Aikman's beer (Eight) is also terrible lol
I should have known better than listen to a Dallas Cowboy fan (my buddy lives in Dallas). Just kidding I never had high hopes for it to begin with.I could have told you that. And I haven't even tried it yet. Nor will I ever, unless someone gives me one for nothing.
