The local ECBP Private Barrel was pretty disappointing last year. Today I'm turning it into whiskey sours, and it's pretty spectacular now. It was hot gasoline before, which masked almost all of the good flavors. Some sugar, sour, and dilution did it some wonders.

I have a private barrel that I'm not thrilled with either.

They are all barrel proof, but only 9 years old. I think that 3 extra years makes a difference. I won't buy another one, and it took my guy months to sell his 15 cases or whatever he got out of it. I seem to recall that it was the same price or maybe a little more than regular ECBP, which makes it totally not worth it. Like I said, it's a good high proof mixer and will get you drunk to the bejeezus belt right quick.

What's a good price for you? We have it in PA for $99.99...I think that's a little over priced. We get ECBP for $64.99. Higher proof and older...
$83 plus my ridiculous taxes brought it to $104. Usually, I find it for $99+ plus shipping online.

We had 3 ECBP private barrels hit my town last year. I haven't tried the 8 year yet, the 11 year was TRASH, but the 10 year is outstanding....glad I bought a backup of it

My wife got me a PourMore subscription… a new bottle every other month for six months. This was the first one.

I don’t think I have a super refined palate, but I have found I generally don’t enjoy high-rye bourbons as much. I sipped a shot first and was almost overpowered by the sharp alcohol flavor. I later had it in an old fashioned and it was fine - perhaps middle of the road quality.

Curious to know if anyone has tried PourMore, or this bourbon specifically.

I have not tried pourmore, but I’ve had a number of the Wilderness trail bottles that I’ve really enjoyed. Don’t think I’ve had that one, but I really like their wheated offerings

After your sample, I had to add this bottle to my BJ pick. Paid $48.99 and shipping was flat rate for up to 6 bottles.View attachment 1156669
Oh...and I highly recommend anything from Starlight.
love starlight, love the double oaked, I have another barrel pick from them and picked up that BJ barrel pick but haven't opened it yet.

Finally cracking our local 8yr ECBP PB release

Neck pour is quite pleasant....getting toasted marshmallows on first sip

Haven't had their double oak, but this is my favorite out of their bourbon and rye offerings. Really good!
Good to know! This is the only one I’ve bought from them. I hear the double oak is epic. Can’t wait to find that one
