All I really want are AMAZING bottles. Unfortunately, they only make up 5% of my collection. I gotta try harder!

I did a huge purge earlier this year. Went from 250 Trader bottles to about 120 bottles I’m gonna drink.

And then I stopped buying in an effort to drink what I have

Did the same with my chips last year but still have too many of those

Have you guys tried Japanese highballs? It’s just cold club soda and whisky. I’ve beeen drinking them all summer. They’re delicious.

There’s some science to the carbonation aerating the whisky which brings out some of the more subtle flavors. It’s pretty refreshing

I basically just pound highballs this time of year. I don't like whiskey on the rocks and drinking a room temperature drink when it's sweltering out is awful.

I like nikka "from the barrel" or glenfiddich 15 solera like 4-8:1 with topo chico or some other seltzer. I agree you can pick up the notes from the whiskey really well.

Also, just cause it's in the same ballpark, jameson and ginger when I want something sweeter, hard to beat on a really hot day.

I like gin and gingers. Well my friends do so I drink them when out.

I haven’t tried the highball with any bourbon yet. Not sure if I want the sweetness. I hear some people put a spritz of lemon and lemon peel. Might add some freshness but I’m afraid it’ll take away from the whisky.

gin and ginger? huh. with a really hit/spiced ginger ale or a sweet/mild ginger ale? I'll give it a shot next time I'm with my buddy who collects gins.

for a sherried scotch I don't add anything except the really cold seltzer, for drier whiskey that are dryer with less fruit notes I like a squeeze of lime
