I have a few belle meades. I’d love to try honey.

Very good bottle! That’s an MGP distillate goodness at cask strength. Not very old, granted, but neither is Stagg Jr for that matter.

I think for around $60, that Belle Meade is a great buy.

Glad to know! I paid $63 for it. I don't see it much around here, so figured it's unique enough to take a shot when I heard some stores got it.

I'd kill for a Stagg Jr Batch 13! Can't get it in PA... :(

Well...

The owner also had 2 bottles of Weller Single Barrel. He opened one and I got a sip. It was damn good!

That's the latests batch, right? Batch 14? I haven't seen a whole lot of those out yet. And definitely none to be found in Michigan.

I don't think I'll be tasting or buying any Weller Single Barrel as they are fetching $800, LOL!!!

yes, batch 14. It’s amazing. Hot but surprisingly smooth. Not what I expected out of a 130 proof bottle.

I would not pay $800 for the single barrel but it was very tasty for sure.

Are you familiar with Weller? I was just talking to my brother tonight about picking up a bottle to try some this weekend

I have only had half of a bottle of the Special Reserve and a small taste of the Antique 107 (tonight) total. I will be getting more familiar with it guaranteed!!

Haha. I‘ve never heard anything bad about any bottles in their collection... very interested in trying some

I will put it this way, if I see it - I BUY IT. Too rare and too much of a great value to ever pass up!

I'll buy Weller at retail, maybe a few bucks above. Secondary market is nuts, no way I'll ever pay that. Pass the Wild Turkey Rare Breed at that point and let's get happy.

My favorites of the 15 or so bottles I have:

Michter's rye I've only had the neck pour and that was a few weeks ago. I'll give it another go here soon but I have high hopes. Not a huge rye guy, but my Costco had a deal that was too tempting so I got one...

No I dont!!! I wanted something that just had a hint of peat for a while and then I tried JW Blue and it was exactly what I was wanting but definitely not worth it IMO

That stuff is all marketing. Not worth it.

Not pictured, the bottles of Rye and Legal Moonshine(Straight Corn Whiskey) that I was picking up as I drove through Knoxville last week. Not mostly for me, was restocking for a bunch of friends back home as we didn't get to take our yearly guys trip that included stopping in knoxville to visit the distillery.

Agreed, but I can let them slide some cause I think it is good stuff. WhistlePig on the other hand, not a fan and way overpriced

Agree on the Pig. There are some 10-year store picks (actual age up to 15yo) from MGP that are absolutely fantastic. They are still $90, so not a "deal" per se. The Black Prince is phenomenal, but $500, LOL!!!

Have you ever gone through the Pigeon Forge area? Several distilleries and wineries worth checking out
