Drinking beer tonight. I feel like I’m cheating on whiskey…

My local put the Albertas on their clearance shelf last week for $50. I grabbed the last two so I’m happy about that but I’m thinking that means I’ll never see them again around here so I’m sad about that lol

Fantastic rye!
I did not like it. Tasted like scotch to me. Gave my bottle away.

Oh that joy walking into a new liquor store and seeing bottles on the shelf you just never see around here…

And then realizing why.

Weller Antique 107 -> $199
Weller Full Proof —> $249
Russell’s 13 —> $299
Parker’s Heritage Rye $399

I wish we had more state control on liquor prices around me. 1 county does, and they release 1 Saturday per month, and the lines start at 3am

The Parker's is the only one that I would consider at those prices.

about a month ago, I found a store that had a few bottles of the Russell's 13. I asked how much, and he said "I think about $300". he looked it up, and he apologized, and said, its $599.99. I told him I would have bought it at $300 (I wouldn't have).

People in Maryland just have stupid money I guess, when it comes to alcohol.

I did see some Midwinter this week for $169. I have a bottle, but am considering that one.
They had other bottles at stupid prices too..

Michters Toasted (Sour Mash) $249
Makers Mark 2020 SE4 $249
Elijah Craig 18 $349

etc..

I can find the bottles that are hard to find, but they all have 400% markups to go with them.

If only I could find some more EHT Taylor by me.
