In the $50-60 price range, I have 3 main “go-to” bottles:

Rare Breed
Old Forester 1920
Knob Creek Single Barrel Select

Throw in Albert Premium ($60ish at Costco for me) if you want a rye.
Perfect list!

One could do much much worse than having to pick from those 4 bottles at their respective price points. I’d probably throw in a nice bonded bottle or a 4 Roses Single barrel to that list when I’m wanting something a little lower in proof.

Looking for a gift for family, I need two of these, I think you can only get them in Colorado. Anyone able to assist?

Its readily available in DE, unfortunately the price has jumped to $77. Great whiskey at $60...
It disappeared here and multiple ABC store managers have told me that it’s no longer nationally distributed and was replaced with Nelson Bros Reserve. I read somewhere that it’s still available in Tennessee and whatever is found elsewhere is just the remaining bottles before the discontinuation. I really hope that’s not the case because the replacement we’re getting is not good.

I’ve had this one a while and decided to open it last night. A mix of good Beam and Wild Turkey funk.

From Old Pepper:

For this special bottling, we have taken a fine, straight bourbon and given it a secondary finish in heavily toasted barrels made from staves of the Finest Kentucky Oak. Unlike the average whiskey barrel, which has its staves air-seasoned for six months prior to assembly, the staves for these barrels were air-seasoned for 18-24 months. This overall process results in more flavor being released in the oak, which in turn is imparted into the already matured whiskey, creating a full-bodied and complex whiskey bottled straight from the barrel - uncut and unfiltered.
