I have to say that the hype on this one is very real! Put the best ECBP I’ve ever had on steroids and this is what you get. Super intense flavors and that finish…holy shit!

Super stoked to finally get my hands on one of these, thanks again @Pinkdan

Nose - noticeable rye up front, immediately followed by a very sweet banana nut bread. Vanilla & brown sugar notes, super sweet.

Palate - Pretty closely follows the nose, but much spicier than anticipated. Rye and black peppers hits the tip of the tongue, immediately followed by the typical sweet JD flavors mid-palate, vanilla, honey and brown sugar. Then the banana nuy bread takes over big time as it sits. Then the rye returns again as it finishes

Finish - Starts to dry like a rye but then sweetens and continues to subtlety warm as it fades. Very well balanced - many ryes really hit you with the rye, this one allows it compliment all the other wonderful JD notes.

Nice. I do still have a sample for you. Believe it or not, I’ve had your samples poured for a bit.

They’re on the shelves here now pretty much all day, every day if you’re still having difficulties finding them later on down the road. It’s a great bottle for sure.

I hope they stay available. We had a round of them but they disappeared quickly
I do too! My local go to ABC has them now and they’ve consistently had them for a good 5-6 months now. I’ve seen them at pretty much every store I went into over the last couple of months as well. Both JD BPs are slept on around here…always available and I like that very much  :ROFLMAO:

Much appreciated! I see the regular JDBPs all the time around here, by never the rye. I'm hoping they start finding their way to the shelves, we'll see.

I need this.

Was this batch really that hard to find? It was never on my radar til my buddy asked me to keep an eye out for it for him. I found it Saturday but didn’t grab them because I forgot if he wanted batch 34 or 35.

After he got done cussing me out, I called the store and had them set the last two aside for me. Guess I was just in the right place at the right time!

I’m gonna mark this date on my calendar that I actually found something desirable in this bourbon wasteland that is North Carolina  :ROFLMAO:

It was out here then gone before I saw the reviews.

Let’s see if the hype is real on this one as well…Whiskey Advocate’s #11 for 2023View attachment 1260226One for me and one for a buddy who has been hunting for this one like I was the ECBP C923

Have you tried the Barrell Bourbons “Dueling Barrels”? Aka “Red Light” vs “Green Light”? Two barrels from same pick. Both are Willet. They’re both really good

I have not. So far the only Barrell product I’ve had so far was a sample of the 15yr Seagrass that @Saoliver sent me and that was excellent. I’m excited to try this one as it’s my first Barrell anything that I’ve purchased.

That seagrass 15 is better than the seagrass 20. Just so you know
