Can never find that in GA…settle for Old Grandad 114 as a good sipper to cost ratio!
I love OGD 114! It’s hard to beat at the $30 that it retails for around here. I prefer the 114 but sometimes I just want a lower proof bottle…especially if I’m bringing a bottle to a game and don’t want to get in too deep lol

Sound strategy…have to pay 35 for the OGD 114 in GA…but beats so much of the overpriced and overhyped bottles out there!

My favorite poker night bottle is Michter's US1. Great sipper and only 85 proof.

Is anybody else seeing half gallons of basic Sazerac all over the place now?
I’m not seeing the 1.75s of Saz, but I am seeing the 750s all over the place and it’s out on the shelves instead of being behind the counter. Used to be one bottle per customer per day but now I can buy as many as I want. Hope this trend continues.

Yeah I’m seeing $30 saz all over the place

So, I lucked into a bottle of Buffalo Trace over the weekend. Never had it since I got into bourbon after the Buffalo Trace craze. I have to say...it's okay. I like it, but don't understand the hype. I think Wild Turkey 101 is a better budget bourbon.

I hope this does not get me tarred and feathered.

The extra proof makes the 101 a better sipper IMO as well. BT stays around for when non bourbon folks come by the house and want to try it. Easy to drink and thankfully easy on the budget around here.

I think you’ll find quite a few here that like 101 better than BT…myself included. Buffalo Trace is a decent $30-35 bottle but just doesn’t suit my tastes like Turkey does. I actually like Elijah Craig Small Batch better than Trace as well.

Buffalo Trace is the entry level from Buffalo Trace distillery. It’s eh. I don’t drink it. But there’s a lot of great bottles that come from that distillery.

Found a bottle of Stagg (don’t call me JR anymore) A23 that is special. EH Taylor is my favorite though. If anyone stumbles across a Knob Creek 18…grab it. Amazing sipper

I have an open bottle of BT in my cabinet. It's been there for like 2 years....

Elijah Craig was my first glass of bourbon ever. I still love it and buy it occasionally!

Yeah, first taste of BT and I thought for a moment I might have over-diluted before I remembered I was sipping neat. And it was even thinner in an old fashioned. Guy at liquor store said they had a line starting at 5am (!!!) for a new BT shipment and they were down to their last 2 cases when I walked in. I was expecting my socks to be blown off given the hype.

WT 101 and Rittenhouse will remain my respective well bourbon and rye for now. Good neat. Good on the rocks. Hold up well in cocktails. Won't break the bank.

101 Turkey was my first ever glass of bourbon. It was the only bourbon I ever seen my grandfather drink and I was privileged to share my first pour of it with him just before he passed back in 91.
