New Riff was also on the shelf. I hadn’t got to researching that one yet. I can choose the bourbon, the rye, or the single barrel-barrel proof rye at my store. About $50 for each.
The single barrel proof is pretty good. The owner has turned picking private label barrels into an art that has huge customer buzz.

For me nearly all of the new stuff isn’t as good as Larceny or Buffalo Trace which makes it hard to justify paying any type of premium. The Eureka Burger out here has a whisky club so we taste a lot of good stuff. While it doesn’t sound like much they have an incredible selection of bourbon.

If we are talking whisky and not bourbon I’m a fan of Stranahans just for regular drinking.

Yeah, Total Wine had a single barre select of Clyde May's and it was incredible. I bought 4 bottles, gave 2 as gifts and have drunk the others. So sad now because it's unavailable at my local store.

So I should try this it seems...

Tried a couple of the Balcones and they’re not that great. Side by side with comparably priced whiskey they’re just a bit too rough.
I am under the same opinion. Thier Mirador is fantastic, and I don't mind their single malt, but the rest were just meh.

This weekends bottle.
Though my go to is Laphroaig 10 year. Especially on these chilly October nights.

I really only use the ice ball in the EC 136 proof. Whats awesome about it is that the flavor of the bourbon completely changes from the first sip to the last. It literally transforms in flavor three or four times.
Have to look only have the B520 as it was said to be one of the best they did so why not start with the best.
