It’s not too horrible here. My grocery store gets it, of all places, and I have the manager’s number. Second Tuesday of the month he gets his allocated stuff.
Last time I saw a bottle on the shelf here was 2021. They don't even have a shelf slot here anymore, anywhere.

Lucked out today and scored a Stagg 24B. Bonus, my store also just got ECBP C924. All the reviews look strong for both so far. I'll head back to stock up on C924!

Looked interesting. Haven't tried it.

So I live a few miles from of the big monopolies that for some reason gets a pass.

If you guessed big spice. You'd be right.

The folks that makes old bay and this stuff.

If you don't know, that stuff is crazy expensive. Like $12 for that itty bitty bottle.

So tonight I start my war against big spice. I bought my own whole bean vanilla, b
Cut it open, and put it in some bourbon.

In 12 short months I'll have homemade vanilla extract. And basically be a millionaire.

I’m also feeling extremely lucky this evening!

Today at 7:20 AM I collapsed in the shared parking deck at work from a stroke. The community college I work for shares this deck with the adjacent hospital across from my office. Luckily for me, we have a fully accredited nursing and EMS program here as I was seen collapsing by two nursing and EMS students that knew how to quickly respond to what they saw and recognized my symptoms and were able to get an ambulance on site very fast. Their quick actions possibly saved my life and helped prevent this from being a major stroke as the neurosurgeon that operated on me seems to think I’m gonna make a full recovery. God is great!!!

Here’s my miserable self as my nice neurological nurse has to come in every 45 minutes and wake me up to do her checks on me.View attachment 1408981i got my rotating loop of Dark Side and Wish You Were Here playing on my phone in hopes I can relax and get some sleep! Feeling very blessed all things considered!
Jeebus. So glad you got help so quickly—keeping you in my thoughts for a full recovery.

Wait a minute... Eagle Rare is easy to find in MA??? At anywhere close to retail? These regional differences drive me crazy! I shop at a LOT of different stores in the Houston area, and have been looking for Eagle Rare for more than two years. Not one single bottle have I seen on a shelf, available for purchase, at even double the retail price. They don't exist where I shop. Only place I've ever even seen a bottle is at a store with a loyalty program. And I was saving up my points there to buy something else. (OWA 107)
Easy to find in NY too. If there is an Austin meetup and I’m able to make it, I can get you a bottle.

I’ve actually had lagavulin 9, 12 (could be mistaken about the 12), and 16 before, as well as the game of thrones edition. I really enjoyed the peat and liked 16 the best. Seemed the smoothest. I was told 9 and 12 were more expensive because they had older barrels mixed in?

Lagavulin releases a 8-year-old, 9-year-old Game of Thrones, 16-year-old, Distiller's Edition and the 12-year-old Cask Strength. They price them on that order from cheapest to most expensive.

The 12 Cask Strength has always been more expensive than the 16 and the Distiller's Edition. I don't think it's because of older casks, although it's certainly possible. I think it has more to do with the fact it's the only Cask Strength in their line-up (vs 43% on the 16 and DE) and that they likely use better/more active casks for that blending since the 12CS is their premium offering. The number of bottles offered of the 12CS is also much smaller than the huge amount of 16yo bottles around...

* They also have a 10-year-old exclusively for travel retail, Nick Offerman special releases (US only I think) and the one-offs higher aged bottles.

Omg, I can’t process these prices. I love the annual Laga 12 CS, but at half that price.
Msrp has crept up to $150 I think now
FYI, that 70th anniversary WT101 is about the same cost as Rare Breed. Maybe $5 more.

Take the advice to get a MM 101. And for a high proof/lower cost replacement for the Rare Breed, Sub in Old Grand Dad 114.
eagle rare is still pretty plentiful around here at $40, lemme know if you want a couple and I’ll grab some next time I see it. Used to be $29 and store picks were frequently found at $40
