The DE is good. I feel it’s a softer/gentler version of the 16yr.Anybody had this year’s Lag 12 yet? Or last year’s DE? View attachment 1411899
ooooooh... I've been waiting to try that one on the far right for a while
Had big plans to sit out front with the fire pit and a nice bottle and hand out candy. It's gonna be 75°...shorts and something cool to drink will have to suffice. The best laid plans...We will be pouring it tomorrow before taking the kids out trick or treating. Most will likely end up in coffee and hot chocolate for the cold evening walk through the neighborhood.
Scrooge!I don't halloween
You have $300 to spend on bourbon/whiskey - as many or few bottles as you want - what’re you buying?
Gonna need sooooo much more info for a good rec. what do you like? Will you ever be using it in cocktails? How quickly do you go through a bottle, eg how much bang for your buck do you need? Do you like a higher or lower proof? You have $300 to spend on bourbon/whiskey - as many or few bottles as you want - what’re you buying?

There’s many ways to get $300 of value but for someone people that’s a bottle or two and for some it’s five.
If I had $300 and was a bit flexible on MSRP and starting from scratch the following come to mind
Alberta Premium, WT 101 (I like for cocktails), Oban 14, New Riff (something on the cheaper side, makes a great pour for guests), and Barrel Seagrass
There is a lot of good value at $30-60. Start there.Don’t know what I like yet, but was hoping to start the journey with $300. I watched some YouTube videos from channels previously mentioned and figured I’d gather a few more opinions before heading to the store. I was wondering if PCFers would prefer 1-2 bottles or more with this budget. The whole “I wish I skipped x and went straight to y” conundrum.
What!!! No Rye on that list? The man did say bourbon/whiskey but that’s definitely a solid list of value bourbons! There is a lot of good value at $30-60. Start there.

I feel like I don’t even know you anymore
Don’t feel like you have to blow thru your budget right away. I’ll assume you’re like most here that enjoy their whiskey neat although there’s nothing wrong with mixed cocktails! You have $300 to spend on bourbon/whiskey - as many or few bottles as you want - what’re you buying?
Whatever you do…don’t recommend any Irish or Scotch yet

Kinda thin. Kinda toasted, but not much. If not for the toasted note, I'd pass. Worth the $25, but that's it. I'd try it before buying multiples.I tried the JB Winter Reserve and found it a little bitter on the initial bottle chug.

You chose wiselyI turned down a MSRP Old Granddad 16yr today. Didn't want to, but the reviews aren't good enough for me to spend $215 all in.
Holy shit!!! Is it Wednesday already??
$48.99 and no tax in DE for me. Leaves me $6 for snacks!5x Wild Turkey Rare Breed
