Yeah I recall when I first got my bottle I was all excited then after trying it was disappointed as it was too hot. So it sat there for over a year and I just had another sip a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. Yes my preferences have changed over the years.

He went to the back and then proudly showed me a bottle of Angel’s Envy finished rye for $120. I think I pissed him off when I started laughing after he quoted me that price.

He's got balls marking that up. I could go out and buy 10 bottles in the next hour if I wanted to, all $90 or so.

I didn’t like the bottle of regular AE bourbon, so I wasn’t even remotely interested in the finished rye. Guess finished whiskies aren’t my jam lol

There are better High West ryes out there. Rendezvous, for example. Or (obviously) MWND.

Decided to grab a second bottle of the KC Cask Strength Rye on the way home from the beach. On a whim, I figured I’d stop at one more store on the way out of town and found a B521 ECBP and a Woodinville barrel proof store pick!

Then I guess my nose and palate have graduated beyond Neanderthal level. Even the neck pour of Larceny BP is very good. I like it at $50.

I’m deep into a bottle of EH Taylor Small Batch BiB. It is so good. Sweet, then oaky, then spice, then a sweet finish. Butterscotch, caramel, raisin, charred oak, pepper, then back to sweet with vanilla and maybe leather finish. So balanced and delicious.

So the other day I walked into one of my regular stops, smaller store but owner is very nice. I see he has the Lost Monarch that everyone posts so I grab a bottle. I know I saw it at another store that is big into bourbon and had bought it there as well earlier, what I forgot was that I had bought two from there. Guess I better start drinking it. Hopefully I like it otherwise?
