Quarter Finals are going to be NED, ARG, BRA, ENG, FRA, ESP, and POR. Aside from BEL and DEN(and Italy that missed the entire event), it's basically just 'have the to 10 in the world play each other.'

Maybe Japan can pull of a miracle.

Let’s keep an eye on Mbappe. Already has one World Cup. When he moves on from PSG to Madrid (it’s going to happen) he’ll start adding European cups as well. He has the potential to be better than both Messi and Ronaldo.
He's already got more world cup goals than Ronaldo and the same as Messi with 9. Crazy at 23

It's Senegal...
Can only beat who they put in front on you. I'm admittedly worried about France, but I rate England's chances against anyone.

Probably won't do it but you have to hope and there's a solid chance they could go all the way.

I'm half English and want to see England win, granted. But it's the same pattern EVERY single tournament: one good result in the knockout stages and the sense of false hope and belief kicks in.

Now, I'm a bit sad about that, but I maintain that England will win this tournament.
For the match ENG-FRA, it should be 1-1 and England going through on penalties...

England - france will be a good one. Think that game can easily go both ways. Have a feeling france will take it though, but hoping for England.

So a thought on Poland vs France. The missed penalty kick at the end got retaken because the goaly left the line early. Lewandowski scores on the second try, but had he missed it would have been retaken again, because the goaly once again left the line early. How can a professional goaly who earns millions adopt a tactic that guarantees that 100% of all awarded penalties will sooner or later yield a goal? Mindblowing...

Living in Scotland (and Wales) means that you are an afterthought. The UK national broadcasters target viewers in England. This means that during football tournaments we are subjected to 24 hour pro-England propaganda.

The TOP STORY on ALL CHANNELS of the national news today is England beating Senegal… The TOP STORY with everything else going on in the world.

Every guest interviewed is asked about how they rate England’s chances of winning the tournament.

They’re already talking about beating France and who they’ll get in the next round. Key words are “confident”, “positive” and “relaxed”.

Today’s top quote from one of the deluded “England have already done it” :ROFLMAO:

Every tournament they set themselves up for a fall. They just can’t help themselves.

Anyway I can’t wait for the post mortem and vilification of whoever the scapegoat is once France pump them out  :ROFLMAO:

It's an ironic sort of statement for the most part.

But this time around you can't argue with them being one of the favourites. 12 goals scored and 2 conceded in 4 games.

Yes it's been against average opposition and yes I expect they will concede at least one against France, but on paper I think England have the best all around team. Bellingham, foden, saka and Kane is a scary level of attacking skill. And then you've still got Grealish, sterling and Rashford on the bench.

I can't wait for the France game, it's going to be a great game regardless of the outcome.

I think that's my worry: dating back to maybe 2002 onwards, England have always had the best team on paper.

But yeah, France game is going to be an absolute belter — and the perfect test to see where this England team really are.

I dunno about that. They had some great players, but it was all a bit disjointed and they were all older players with egos and club rivalries.

This generation is young and have a togetherness that the old teams never did.

Side note, I'd love Giroud to sign off with a goal.

Whoever wins that game has got to be the favourite.

Southgate has done a great job as manager. Probably a factor in this was his time with the under 21 team. All the players know him and respect him. He seems like a genuine decent guy as well.

And to think you could have had Sam Allardyce  :ROFLMAO:

There doesn’t seem to be any egos in that squad. They look like a solid unit.

Still want them to be pumped out though  :ROFLMAO:
Same reason Arsenal are doing well right now. They got rid of all the arrogant twats. Which is the exact opposite of what the French did lol

We’re doing the same at Celtic. Manager looks at player personality as well as skill. No point having a world beater if he upsets the rest of the dressing room.
I always look at the subs bench when we score a goal. If they’re all running over to join in the celebrations you have a happy squad.

The only player I can think of objectively (although his absence is a lack for the team) is Karim Benzema, and he is out. Our midfield is quite unprecedented with the absence of Kanté and Pogba. Our big weakness is the duo Pavard / Koundé on the right. Giroud is by definition, the collective player par excellence.

Which egos then? Rabiot? Griezmann?

About M'bappé.

As everyone knows, it is the future world crack in the future, if he continues on this pace. A small reminder of his stats to highlight the context:

In 2022: 52 games for 52 goals
Career: 360 games for 250 goals and 115 assists

By definition, he draws all the light on him. If you've listened to most of his public appearances, he always shows exceptional maturity in what he says for a 20-something, which is impressive and disconcerting at the same time.

Or was it just a primitive attempt of French bashing? Many of the top players in the Premier League come from France.

Farmers league huh?
