Hey brother sorry to tell you but that’s probably a fake. Cohiba bands are the easiest to check, have to have 7 little white boxes from top to “Cohiba” and 9 total from top to bottom and the boxes will never be cut off like that. I could be wrong but look’s like there slightly askew and cut off.

Cubans have QC issues all over the place with the sticks themselves but never the bands.

Posting here rather than PM so others learn too.

Thank you I appreciate it, I was actually looking for feedback as I’m not a cigar smoker (but I will from time to time). My brother in law just came back from Cuba, and when we told me he paid $3 for it, I get the sense that it wasn’t high quality. I have two, and was planning on bringing one to the host of a meet up soon- but if it’s not high quality - I don’t wanna use it as a gift.

Looks like the white boxes are cut off where they meet the “Cohiba” section towards the left there. That won’t happen on a real one.

I see more red flags on this cigar than on a stripper. Totally fake. And a bad one. Please don't ruin your reputation and in the bind it should go. You have no idea what's in it. It could be banana leaves, hair, dust, paint, you name it. Everything has been seen in fake cigars. Do yourself a favor and let it go.

Well... I d argue that now with the high quality fakes the Cohiba bands aren't that easy to spot. From the font use, the triple square you only see with black lights to the serial number you can only see with black lights... Fakers are getting really really hard.

Wow, I shouldn't smoke it for the heck of it? I was thinking, okay it's a fake, but it's still a cigar. Now you're making think this thing is poisoned.

Damn, it’s an obvious fake when I look at your guides. Thanks, guess I’ll be tossing them.

Yes. Dont smoke it. The problem isn't that it's not an official habanos. The problem is that it's faked as one. If it was a farm roll, or anything that it's not advertised as original I would be kind of fine. But not in this situation.

alright, they are trashed. Thanks for the help. Bummer they were fakes.

Had it been real it would have been a 60-80usd stick. Habanos brand must only be purchased in casa del habano in Cuba. The good old: my sister s friend works at the factory is BS.

I see this cigar thread, but I don't see the pipe thread. Where are my pipe enjoyers?

Newer to the hobby, I've got 2 Savinelli and 2 basket pipes.

Me and the boys, pic related

*Now enjoying some traditional in my Tre.

These are so awesome. Really fascinating anise notes over intense barnyard and leather. I smoke these usually only in lancero and get much more warm spice but in toro the sweet notes are much more complex I feel. Not probably a popular opinion but these are by far my favorite of the MF line.

I have become quite frustrated trying to find a large round ceramic ashtray like you might find in a cigar lounge. I understand they mostly get these directly from brands as part of the sales relationship. I just can't seem to find something as large or as deep as I would like. I want four people to share an ashtray without having cigars remotely get near the ash as the night goes on. And I do not want one of the large stainless steel ones from Stinky. Any leads?

Here s what I got when I googled Cohiba ashtray. I don't know in the US, but here you can easily find one of those. Definitely on the pricey side of the world, but definitely worth it.

I own the one on the top right corner. Splendid.

I know you don’t want a stinky, but I love mine. I’m not sure if it’s the stainless steel color you don’t like (which I don’t either) but they have other colors/finishes

@FestiveKnight it sounds like you're looking for something nicer, but FYI I have these and they work great. No chance of falling and breaking, which I thought was a big plus.

I bought a few hundred of these about 4 years back and they’ve turned truly lovely for a mid-spring smoke. Perfect summer flavors with hay and charred hamburger. Before these I’ve never understood what reviewers meant by that latter flavor but these have got it.

That being said, these are by far the worst constructed Cuban mixed filled shorts I have ever had and I’ve tried almost all of them.

They’re always close to falling apart by the end and it’s impossible to avoid getting some bits of tobacco in your mouth.

They have their own brand of cigars, but tequila infused and such. No thanks.

Now Cowboy in Black IPA is a hell yeah.
