@BNM
A straight cut, and it was a good cut if you ask me, as I typically use a punch, but this stick had a pointed head (?).

Edit: Torpedo

Local shop/lounge hosted a Perdomo night last night with specials, swag, and free pizza & beer. They’re sales rep was there too and I got to talk to him a bit.

I really like the Perdomo line and I don’t know if I’ve ever had a bad smoke from them.

Sorry - This doesn’t contribute much to the thread (LOL), but I thought I would share nonetheless.

Yeah, straight cut needed for torpedos. You can try to cut a bit more if the initial draw isn’t great, but just don’t go beyond the cap.

@Copper44, and anyone, I suppose: The Montecristo No 2s are on sale at ihavanas.com. $210 for a box of 15, shipped. That’s $14/stick which I think is very reasonable.
Was notified that my order dispatched Wednesday. ;) Great price on the Por Larranaga Petit Coronas as well at $287 for 50.
Both cigars are Excellent smokes.

Nice! Have a box of the PL petit caronas in the humidor from my last ihavanas purchase! Haven’t cracked it yet, trying so many singles, but eager to do so!

Had a Partagas Serie D two nights ago. Very pleasant. First Partagas I’ve enjoyed. Still a very mild flavor profile, though, which seems very consistent with my Cuban experience.

I started smoking Cubans cause I thought it was baller but I find I like the medium body and rich creamy smoke that come from the Cubans I buy. I tried to smoke some of my old go-tos and they just didn’t do it for me anymore

Got these in the mail today. One of my favorites

H.Upmann Petite Coronas.

JFK purchased 2000 H.Upmann petites before signing the embargo. They don’t make those anymore, but the petite corona is supposed to be similar. These are short 30-40 min smokes. I have one each way to work, so I go through 2 boxes a month.

People speak highly of H. Upmann. Haven’t had the pleasure yet, but those shorter smokes appeal. Thanks for the recommendation.

Found this in an article:

To celebrate, Rick Kranitz, the Braves' pitching coach, cracked open a fresh box of Padron 1926 Serie cigars. There are 10 different sizes of the 1926s available, each with its own distinctive number. This particular selection was the perfect choice for the night, for the 2021 Atlanta Braves. In the upper-left-hand corner of the lid, it indicated what Kranitz had chosen.

No. 1.

Had a My Father Flor de las Antilles tonight. Mild/medium body, but smooth as silk. Enjoyed very much.

They are pretty good, but yes a bit light. Try the maduro version, it's really good and more med to full.

Anybody have any experience with the Nub brand? Are they worth a sampler pack?
Yeah they're pretty damn good. I agree they aren't a very short smoke even though they look like one. The double Maduro is a great smoke with a lot of tooth. Connecticut and habano are kind of boring to me but not bad smokes. The samplers on cbid are a great deal.
