Why haven't we got any @Ray-Col renders of these chips yet?
dontknow.gif

artwork? colors? specifics? I don't know anything about these chips yet.

But lucky me: @PatTheCat was very generous and sent me one of his two anniversary chips (I missed the opportunity to get one from @Tommy) so I could do a mesh of these to get my toe in the water.
I'll do my best to come up with something in a day or two ...

Wow, these look great and price is awesome.

I’m torn between a more traditional set and a high roller set. Anyone have any suggestions?

Set 1 -
200 - 100s
100 - 500s
140 - 1000s
60 - 5000s

T40K with starting stacks of 20, 10, 13, 4

Set 2
200 - 1k
200 - 5k
200 - 25k

T500,000 with starting stacks of 20, 16, 16

@TheBigTater - Um, well. I fear I'm a little ahead of schedule ...

... more to come ...

Downside: There's an unfitting faux 3D-ring in the inlay-graphics which I snapped from the image in the OP ...

Awesome, you are the render wizard! (y)

Wish I could like this multiple times.

I am pretty sure that image just doubled the order size.

This is what I love about this place.

@Tommy you took the only offering from GPI and basically made the best possible version of it. The price is fantastic and I think the work you’re doing organizing it is amazing.

You took lemons and made Champagne.

This review is great. You mention in the video that you paid half price for them but it's not clear how that came to be. Can you clarify? @Hobbyphilic

I was saying I had to front 1/2 the cost of the chips because I "was a new client". So instead of paying for them when they arrived, 1/2 up front and the rest plus tax, plus shipping when they shipped. I paid full price.

It actually might get me off the fence. They look great!
Yeah that render gives me second thoughts. Still not sure they’re for me, but they look better than expected.
They’re definitely different. Do any other giant inlay no-mold chips exist?

Didn't you have a massive Stardust Poker Mansion tourney set? The colors are similar.

I wish! I think the Stardust chips came out during my chipping hiatus after we moved from MD to NY. Never had any quantity of those except for the 2000+ T100 chips that I picked up later at around $100/rack. Tough to pass those up at that price. I toyed with relabeling them into a limit set, or using them as a $5 chip with other house molds, but in the end I sold them off and focused on other projects.

But yeah, I'd LOVE to own a Stardust Poker Mansion set (cash or tournament). They're one of my favorite chips. Love the mold, love the colors, and love the consistent spots. It's pretty close to my ideal set.

I'm honestly not sure. I'm guessing that the closest chips I've own to these (in terms of feel) were my mint Bahamia chips. They also had a giant inlay, albeit on the RHC mold.

Ahh it was @derekdd23 . I linked the SPM website to his PrOn thread a while back. www.stardustpokermansion.com

I was going to say these, but they are RHC.

I wonder if there’s some regulations that say casino chips need a mold. I bet that’s it.

The no mold is technically called the Lammer mold. (@MD Mike) :D The Wynn charity chips have the same mold. So probably not an approved mold for casino chips.

@Tommy your last count has us at 18.5k chips.

That’s pretty significant for only being open for a few days, wouldn’t you say??

18,467. It may up or down. Depends on additional orders and the payment deadline. Currently only waiting for 6 more payments so we are on track.
GEMACO said they are holding 2017 pricing for me so getting this in next week is good. I have not seen updated 2018 pricing so who knows.

Dunno if that's accurate, I've never seen a NV regulation that requires mold markings -- it only requires a manufacturer's mark, either in the mold itself or on the inlay or hot-stamp. Ceramics don't have mold markings.

New Jersey regulations require that the chip value be part of the mold itself.

The Paulson 50mm mold (referred to as Crest & Seal, go figure) has no mold markings, and is used in a few casinos (most notably as the T500K wsop 8V chips, but there are others).

They did for a very long time. Some of the best looking chips with real shaped inlays (some with clear shaped which are awesome) during that time period. For whatever reason they stopped requiring it. The Resorts RHC rack comes to mind. I'll have to check TCG but early 2000s maybe.
