Although I'm not a violent person, I'd like to strangle that Minnesota dentist who killed and beheaded Cecil, the black maned African lion. Cecil was a protected animal and this was not anywhere close to 'hunting'. I hope he gets a huge fine and really long prison sentence.

i would commit unspeakable crimes to be guaranteed to come back as a cat in my house, but sadly there are so many cats who aren't cared for or who are cooped up in cages and small shelters. while the latter is certainly much better than starving to death in the wild, it a pretty rough existence in terms of their psychological well-being.

we donate to Alley Cat Allies and they are a wonderful organization if you're inclined to support such a cause.

Awesome, both of our cats were rescued from a shelter. Also, only recently became aware of how much better it is to feed cats moist food that doesn't have "meat by-products" listed as one of the first ingredients. Previosuly we had been feeding them Hills Science Diet Oral Care dry food, but from what we learned dry food is not so good for them. Been buying the Great Choice stuff at PetSmart as an affordable option, but you do have to read the labels as not all of their flavors have real meat/poultry products listed first.

not a fan of rats personally. Enjoy though!!!
An automatic hesitancy with most people is normal when you bring up having a rat because they think of alley rats and sewer rat/pests. Actually they make great pets and are quite smart and loyal. Teach them tricks actually and 'toilet' train them. Sad thing is they only live 2-3 years :(

I see another custom CPC set down the pipe...... TOBY'S PLACE -- Where the Poker Rats Play

All the more reason to memorialize him. Start planning/saving now....

I can't remember if I posted this one before but here is one of Rio on his favorite bridge in the neighborhood park. He's getting pretty grey but still acts like a puppy when we encounter squirrels and bunnies on our walks. :)

Rat's a matter of opinion!

Scotland's summer finally arrived last Sunday for a full day, so we hit the beach for 4hrs

Yes, the horizon is sloped like that in Scotland - you're getting close to the edge of the world.

...and the aftermath:

My lack of craft skill prohibits me from visiting this on Finn and Rua. Plus they would not enjoy it...

I reckon this could be the new, big "thing"
