Post mockups for fun/science? (4 Viewers)

Trying some stuff while setting up an Illustrator base file to do mockups and play with spots patterns. If/when I do a ceramic set, I'll try to have the best of both worlds: the possibilities of full print, and the usability and aesthetic of traditional spots.

Some half-pie + small spots bastard pattern. I quite like it, the face has potential, and the barrel simulation is super nice imho.

Best thing about ceramics is the ability to be creative. I like the thinking with this pattern and the possibilities it encourages.
 
I would probably vote keeping simple and going the same on both sides, but I don't mind the switch up. Would drop the text if you go different labels on each side.

Not sure how Tina Hybrids work, but I would guess having additional label designs and different labels on each side would likely have some additional costs involved regarding setup fees etc, but I could be well off base on this. But probably worth a mention for consideration.
Ooh that’s a good point about the Tina hybrid labels that I hadn’t even thought about. Was planning on getting in on the new Greek hybrid group buy, but sounding like I may have to go the blanks + order separate gear labels or something instead if I really want to do two different sides

AFAIK, you cannot have different label on the Greek mold, I think I have read this somewhere in the group buy thread.

That said, I think your inlay has potential, perhaps just a tiny bit of "tightening", playing with the sizes and the spaces.
I think the idea of a colour-matching sheep is quirky/fun and could work well! Perhaps put Black Sheep in black/dark grey, and colour the sheep? Worth trying imho.

I would suggest to work on the kerning / letter spacing. B L is too wide, L A too narrow, H E too wide, etc.

I think I’ll do a mock-up that way too to see how it looks, thanks for the idea. Labels definitely will need tightening up when I figure out how to do all that. Past few days putting these together is the first time I’ve ever actually used Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop for anything so I’m definitely still figuring things out as I go. Time to google kerning lol.

On the bright side, if I’m going with blanks and separate labels I’ll have a couple months to work on the labels before I even get the blanks

I’d remove the yellow and swap with a grey, green or brown to keep it cali theme since the yellow should technically be used up in the 5 spot
No 5 here. It's a 25-100-500-1,000-5,000
And, while supposedly Californian, it is truly an Aegean Cycladic set.

Edit: Shades of blue for the sea and sky, white for the waves, yellow and orange for the sun, fuchsia/purple for the sunset and springtime wildflowers
 
NOT for fun or science anymore, but rather a reality in the making.

Nice! I like your colours, especially the 100 and 500, really nice blues. My only minor criticism would be the spots on the 25, I think black is too… black, I would like to try something a bit more subtle.

I would also try to vary a bit the shapes of the spots across the chips, to make the fake inserts less fake. Especially on the edge.

I am really curious about the name: "Aegean" is English, but "Phare" sounds French. Or is it the modern transcript of the greek φάρος?
 
We had to have some black, for the night (other than on the label, that is).

The spots remain unchangeable to evoke the Holy Cross, present on countless chapels and monasteries on Aegean islands' hill tops.

Phare is among the thousands of Greek words present in English, even as rare ones. :)

I was not suggesting another pattern, just introduce more tiny random variations to the shapes, so they are not printed all identical
