Looking for some help finding a shuffler for my card game. Daily heavy usage. I’ve looked at shuffle tech as a minimum but I’ve seen casino grade hitting the used market. The last time I looked at getting one it was $15k+. Last I read was that the machines were not reliable and would break down, hence casinos having extras as back up. If I were to spend the money, is there a reliable option that’s better than shuffle tech? Recommendations please!

If you can swing it I would strongly recommend getting a deckmate 1. I believe you can find them for around $4.5k. They are very reliable (easily can be run everyday) and if you do have any issues with it you can reach out to @minedelta and he can help troubleshoot your machine. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the DM1.

Do you have personal experience with the unit? There seems to be more models out since the last time I checked. Are they easily fixable? Would I need 2 to rotate if one goes down? Do you know where I can find these units for $4.5k?

It’s amazes me that people are willing to spend this kind of money.

lol this is very funny to me on a forum where people have north of $10k worth of chips that never hit the felt  :ROFLMAO: And that may be a conservative estimate!

Yes, I do have the deckmate 1 and it’s been great. I don’t use it close to everyday but I have put 3k shuffles through it without any issues. @minedelta hasn’t run into a DM that he couldn’t fix. He has a thread with a ton of information on them if you want to take a look at it.

I had this view till I got my shuffletech and honestly can get 30% more hands an hour. It's crazy how it speeds up dealing even with a quick dealer.

At least a shuffletech is 700ish?

700ish I could get behind, but I’m still fine to shuffle myself. That’s 30% hands more than using the two deck, shuffle behind thing?

We don't do shuffle behind at our table due to a few players being super slow dealers. But I'm pretty fast with one deck alone and don't mind it generally.

But boy does it make it easier. Grab cards, mix, shove in machine, new hand out.

But it does make me stare at the fancier ones and lust when normally I'm the cheapest bastard on earth.

I guess it’s the gateway drug huh? Besides, plenty of people in the real world scuff at spending $700 let alone $4500 on chips. But a couple of months on here will do the trick to expand that budget  :ROFLMAO:
That's why actually I grabbed it. Lol. I would never do it but one popped up and I was like.... "Well, that's like 2 racks of chips now .... I've done dumber things"

And have been pleasantly surprised.

I will be posting one up on the forums for sale this weekend. Pictures to follow. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you are interested.

I think the combination of poor mantinence and running these machines 24/7 creates the enviorment for it to fail. You will not have to worry about that though as I created a community for us deckmate 1 owners to come together and calibrate on any issues that come up. As we were all in the same boat as you were thinking that these machines break down all the time. They still use these machines 20 years later in casinos and I expect 20+ more years to come. They are built like tanks.

Here is a video of the operation of the DM1 with out the cover on.

my group loves the shuffle tech, it definitely spend up the games. we use 2 (two) decks. one is always ready to shuffle.
my shuffler sits on the table, I couldn't see myself cutting a hole in my table. Noise doesn't bother us, everyone has been to
alot of rock concerts so hearing is mute. we usually run 8 people on a 10 person table so there is plenty of room.

Yes I am interested. Is this model considered the best bang for It’s price? We will need the machine 40-70 hours a week.

I used a shuffletech for a year or so, but have since switched back to the two-deck, shuffle behind method and sold the shuffler. If the 2 deck method is slower than the Shuffletech, I sure don't notice personally.

YMMV, but my group never stopped complaining about how loud the shuffletech was. I also prefer being able to use a variety of cards (bridge, poker, different stiffness) without worrying about whether they're going to work okay with the shuffler.

The shuffletech with two decks should not be faster than the manual two deck shuffle behind/ahead method. In both cases, when the hand is over there should be a shuffled deck ready to go.

While I haven't used a shuffler I having a hard time imagining it's any quicker than the 2 deck shuffle behind method. In my game the next deal starts immediately after the previous hand is finished, pitching cards over what may still remain of the previous hand if that's taking time to shift the chips or get the cards back to the last dealer.

My players are all pretty efficient shufflers, and it's hardly a time consuming task, so it's extremely rare for a shuffled pack not to be ready and the only thing that sometimes holds up a deal is a really complicated split pot, but that would happen with a shuffler a well.

Yeah the Deckmate can handle any bridge, poker, and different thickness but it would be a little bit of a hassle if you were to switch cards mid game.

I usually set mine and do a auto setup before each game to make sure it's tuned correctly.
