SAVE YOUR MONEY (3 Viewers)

I know the feeling, I just joined a couple of months ago and have not experienced anything that Jim has put up. So yes I’m excited but I’m not getting hopes up at all because by the looks of it there may not be a chance for a newbie to have a legitimate shot.
You chances are as good as anyone else’s. All you need is a fast internet connection. Once Jim starts the sale, it usually looks like this!

Get your hopes up. The only things that sell out quickly in these sales are the expensive, high denomination chips (and maybe fracs if they’re offered.) If you’re looking for $1’s, $5’s and $25’s there are always plenty of those for everybody who’s there in the first hour.

Maybe there will be plenty to go around, who knows. Does he usually give a heads up on a time that he starts?

Dang. Just hearing everyone talk about how these sales go makes a new chipper like myself feel like I’ve got no chance. Maybe I’ll at least get some valuable experience from it!! Haha

This is a very large casino with LOTS of chips. If you are looking for a cash set of 25c, $1, $5, $25, $100 then this is the sale for you! You may not get everything exactly that you want in the initial sale, but you should be able to get most pretty easy. Also there will be more sales and the chips will hit the classifieds very shortly after as well.

The $500 and up chips will be more desired for tournament sets and will have a higher price tag because there are much less of them. They will usually also have limits on how many you can buy. Usually based by % of total order. So people will have to buy a bunch of the more common low denomination chips to get the big chips, which then get sold/traded later on as well.

Very helpful info, thanks for sharing!!

Yes, he's very clear with details on the purchasing requirements and date/time of sale. Expect a few days notice

Seems there's will be a looot of chips in this sale. If it's comparable to Horseshoe Cleveland there will be several hundred thousand chips.

Maybe the 25c will be limited and go fast as well. But other than that I absolutely agree, and this should be a great sale for new members!

I expect the 25c chips will have a limit of 1 rack per 800-1000 chips. So there should be a enough to go around to most people that want a rack. But yes, they will be in hot demand. Spotted inlayed THC fracs are always desirable! Too bad they are blue and white though. The 2 most common colors for the $1 chips as well. I wonder if they will have a problem with dirty stacks?

Side bet they won't be the clay versions.

i thought people were posting that there are probably no fracs left in the casino?

There will be fracs. Maybe some secondary clay quarters, but I doubt many of the primary clays are included. Ceramics for sure.

They could have ordered 500 fracs, yet only put a couple hundred on the floor and vaulted the rest. MGM Detroit ordered baccarat chips and took them off the floor within a month. Those could still be sitting in a vault.

There’s secondary’s. Maybe they got harvested out of the primary’s but they will have secondary’s so I wouldn’t sweat it. My guess is that we are gonna get pricing similar to the roadhouse sale on the primary’s.

Why do you think this? From what I’ve read they went to clay chips in 2016. Could be wrong though. The only pics I’ve found if these chips have been Paulsons so I doubt we will se many ChipCo’s in this sale if any.

I've played there many times. I have four times as many of their clay quarters in my chip closet than I've ever seen total on the tables there -- they have been extensively harvested. The dealers were even instructed to not use them for payouts; they used real 25c coins instead.

Likely to be secondary clay quarters, but I'll be shocked if there is any significant amount of primaries included in the sale.

Anyone remember what the original Horseshoe group buy prices were on the lower denoms?

They could have ordered 500 fracs, yet only put a couple hundred on the floor and vaulted the rest. MGM Detroit ordered 43mm baccarat chips and took them off the floor within a month two days at the old casino, before the move. Those could still be sitting in a vault were destroyed with the rest of the old MGM rack that didn't make it out.
Fixed.

There’ll still be original quarters just not the amount quoted.

The spreadsheet that no longer exists showed how many quarters were available. I assume those were the numbers that were made "public" to those that wanted to bid in the auction. I assume some of those will make it into Jim's private collection, and some will be set aside for cash sets, but I expect there will still be a good amount available for purchase in the sale.

Ahh good point they had a separate line item for the ones who didn’t make it
