I live in a pretty small apartment, and I'm wondering if I could get away with making a table like the one shown below made by @T_Chan using threaded inserts so that I could disassemble the table for storage between games. I'd love to hear what you guys think of this idea!

That would be no problem. Threaded inserts with bolts, or some other quick release device would do the trick.

If you were to go with @allforcharity's suggestion of doing a dining table cover for the same size table, you can even handle that on your own. A 4' diameter topper wouldn't be hard to remove and replace by yourself.

There are so many nice tables in this thread. Some of you guys really play on works of art.
Here's my humble build that I did earlier this year. I was working on a pretty thight budget, but I'm very happy with how it turned out as it was my first time doing anything like this. It's a topper that fits on top of my dinner table. It's somewhat small as it fits 6 players comfortably and 8 max.

Finishing up a dining table topper for a customer who has an existing table and wanted the topper to be the same size as the table underneath... 6 feet!

Yep that's a 6' diameter poker table topper. Normally I would dissuade someone from getting such a big table, but they were already playing on their 6' table normally as a poker table but wanted to get something nicer to play on.

Cappuccino whisper vinyl rail, 6" wide

3/4" raised rail, maple stained ebony
Gaming suede felt
10" dual pedestal with princess feet, solid maple, stained ebony

What is the color of the felt? Is it a gray or blue or maybe gray-blue. Love it.

I needed a smaller table that I could easily store. So I sold my elliptical table and built this smaller table for our cash games. I was hoping to take some pictures of it in use but most of my cash players were in the tournament till the end so we never made it to the new cash table. It was my first time working with vinyl (my other tables have padded suede) and the rail definitely needs some improvement. Those corners are a bit trickier than one would think. I do a lot of learning by trial and error and that was definitely the case here. So at some point I'll redo the rail but it'll work for now. One more shout out to @T_Chan for powder coating the cup holders for me so I could have quality black cup holders on my all black table.

There might be problems close-up, but those rails look fine in the photos.

I had no idea how to do the diffuser or get the vinyl to come out nice at the dealer spot but I guessed and it came out ok! There was probably an easier way than what I did and I spent way too many man hours on it, but I'm pleased at the end result.
