My daughter gifted me one of her metal shop projects and I put it to good use right away.

I don’t know if these dice plaques are worthy but I can always downgrade the toolbox if I have to.

Where we’re at presently.

We’ll play as many or as few as we get for this Pre-Thanksgiving session. We are rolling a taco bar and pizzas on the spinner to compliment the HD Roller.

Anything frozen will do here. I’m thinking a couple of Lottsa Motzas should do the trick. I want to get a “rocker styled” cutter. I’m thinking squares but might go with narrow “triangle” slices. The butt end is essential for something to hold onto.

Lineup for Session 134 “Run Turkey, Run” the Thanksgiving Eve offering.

Should be a good night of poker complete with Quarter Horses and an expanded offering in the James Dean Lounge including the usual HD Roller, Floppy Joe’s, and the introduction of soft and hard shell tacos and the first ever pizza on the Presto Spinner.

Here’s to the beginning of the poker weekend which will culminate with Event II in the Fling for the Ring Series on Saturday night.

134 on Thanksgiving Eve was a smash. The taco bar was a huge hit, the pizza on the spinner crushed. Fun had by all.

We ran two decks of cards as a test with the Horse Race Game. Read about it in the HR Thread and state your case for or against.

Cards after horses at 7pm. 9 players took the first hand. Ran “just two more orbits” 6 handed at 0130, finished cashing out, and watched 4 of my captains talk shop and life until 0300. We have a no “must vacate” philosophy at GFC. Here I am at 0630 having coffee on less than 3 hours of sleep getting ready to saddle up and run some of the backers work errands with her. Remember, the GFC runs on Dunkin and we support the organization and do our part.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. We all know what we’re thankful for and likely can’t relate to the entire spectrum of what everyone is all appreciative of no matter how big or small.

Well, grinding it out at the hospital but the day is moving quickly. I’ve been in touch with my Captains and Made Guys and have prepared and released the final announcement for Event II in the Fling for the Bling Series.

Finish the day out and get home to do some housework and prepare for a simple midday meal tomorrow. Bright and early I’ll be in the card room to straighten up and get the James Dean Lounge ready and pull the chips and plaques. After our meal I’ll cook around the mess for the session.

Well folks, it’s the last Saturday of the month which means the Fling for the Bling Series Event 2/12 is on for tonight. I’ll start prepping the room and before you know it it’ll be tourney time at GFC.

Great tourney last night. The one rebuy no add-on format accomplishes exactly what we want; encouraging players to play their style of poker under the pretense that there are rails in place to help them avoid the relatively unchecked aggressive gameplay that might come with unlimited rebuy and add-on scenarios.

Yours truly enacted the “if it’s good enough to call, it’s good enough to raise” tourney mentality and played extremely competent poker until his Ace high was bested by the turn catch of bottom pair and then got tangled up in a Boat v. Boat scenario. In the money third. The Banker and Big Pharma went head to head while myself, DJ Patrick and Ritter looked on. Big Pharma bested the keeper of the Drawer to take down Event II in the Club Championship the “Fling for the Bling” Series.

The Director’s Cut kept the oil burning from the 0030 last hand until around 0230. With some minor inquiries by the Boss the series is going without a hitch.

Another night finished up without so much as a photo due to the dedicated play and focus. I did snap two pictures as I was finishing the “Closing the Lights” ritual.

Coming out of a week off at GFC but we’re tabled up for 10 on Friday the 13th, Session 136 “The UnHoyle.”

The week off is customary after a doubleheader and with 134 on Thanksgiving Eve and Event II in the Club Championship Series we closed the lights.

Never received with an “Oh thanks Skip for destroying my poker life” when we take the night off but always appreciated in hindsight.

Did pick up an item for the Poker Chest this week being the nostalgic guy that I am.

My goal for the year is to host monthly cash games and this thread (and a few others) have given me great inspiration and motivation to keep pushing the boulder up the hill. If I ever make it to Minnesota I would love an opportunity to lose all my money at your table haha!

Will do and thanks for the props. You get up this way LMK. Games do grow despite sometimes feeling that they're not. Stay the course, don't be afraid to play 5, 6, and 7 handed poker, find your players that have regular listed all over them and involve them, think forward, pour yourself into it, and always be recruiting. Good Friday and Poker Day morning. The balmy weather in MN Nice will give way to frigid temps tonight but Game #140 will be well underway as things turn freezing. Don Kenny will put some pics up of tonight's session. It'll be an actiony night with a returning player and just an overall good time is on tap. The Major Tom's Variant of Horse Racing will be happening pre-session. The room is ready and all that's left to do is fade an 8-hour day at work and we'll be rocking and rolling. With the Monday Holiday will there be interest in a Saturday game as Godfather begins the countdown to his 600th session spread? Hmmmm...

The lights are closed tonight at Godfather Club. With Event Four of the Club Championship Series tomorrow night I didn’t have a doubleheader in me. Spent the night relaxing and getting the new Elephant and Crowns settled into the cabinet. Instant micro stakes set (we don’t do that but must be ready) the fracs ($25’s here) will see the table next week paired with white DieCards as the workhorses. Very excited. Did I mention I’m suddenly looking for E&C whites now? Lol

Friday was a rest and Zen day that did *not* necessarily translate into Club Championship Series success on Saturday. I played well but was inherently second best. First player to the rail. Our son Zack battled heads up against my Lieutenant DJP and was ultimately bested for the top spot. Made Guy Abe Froman made the podium after ill-managing his one time chip lead.

Back on the cloth Friday with a couple of returning regulars who made the trip up the highway for a $100 Freeze Out. Nothing notable to report.

Acquiring a black rack of hot-stamped HHR’s and brokering a trade to reacquire my sorely missed rack of black DieCard solids might put me in a position to table my recently purchased yellow Elephant and Crown fracs ($25’s lol) this week along with the sister black E&C $1’s. We’ll see if the postman agrees.

Happy Monday PCF. The clock is officially ticking to first flops for all of us this week.
